The Fieldtripper App just added a new category in the Outdoor Arts section - Niantic Data Repository - if you go to the different locations given in the game - you start finding some interesting information

the 3 blank widths 1,2,3
the 2 gray widths 4 and 5

Does anyone know if there's a way to see nearby ones of these without visiting them so we can find the real-world elements? Or are we right now just being encouraged to wander randomly and try to find anything?

EDIT: Nevermind. Found the "Nearby" part of the App. Which is unfortunate because there's nothing nearby me. Sad

Mankato, MN, is largely boring, it seems.

Ah well. This weekend I'll head into the Twin Cities and see if I can have any luck there...

Hi, I've been working on this as much as I can alone before going through the forum and wiki, and I've got some information that doesn't seem to be in either of those yet.

Specifically, I identified a couple more statues from the welcome videos:
Lotta's Fountain and Aurora Fountain.

The only other currently referenced memorial/monument/fountain/statue/fountain that seems to be unknown is the one that quotes Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I have not been able to come close to that.

I went to a lot of trouble to get the GPS coordinates for each location too.

Rather than go through each of my notes and determine what's already known or not, I might as well just attach my notes. I know I am missing some stuff from the wiki, but it actually has quite a bit of overlap, and would be a useful for people who just want to jump into the game in the middle.

Things in my notes that I plan on coming back to have a TODO by them.

 		Some of the XM data points have been looked at using the fieldtripper app

has anyone located additional field trip XM points?

ok - looking again at the XM niantic data points in the fieldtripper app - the ones listed on the wiki have the following words - pandora portal higgs coverup epiphany jarvis creative - what of that whole FTL particle they found at CERN (associated with the whole finding the higgs/bosun particle) really did exist and was a way to create a portal, but what it created a portal to and what came through the portal maybe was covered up - maybe something allows people to become more creative, to reach epiphanies and this is something that people do not want because they are afraid of the pandora box that using this portal and shaping of humans might create... I mean people freak over GMOs, what if this "thing" could make us a GMO... what if that is what is happening to +Joe Philley and +Brandon Badger - is it a good thing?

Not sure if this is anything, but in the IRC chat it was mentioned how the wiki pages for some of the words of the day had been altered - there is one I am especially interested in - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sousveillance

if you look at the history - it was edited by - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/PAChapeau

in the version PAC edited - there was a line about APX Labs (not sure what else might be in the older version).

The zurich picture could be an artistic representation of a monument in Zurich. It could be the silloette of someone standing, or a near head-on view of someone riding a horse. I couldn't find anything similar in my google image search. The top of the Alfred Escher memorial fountain is remotely similar.

I went to youtube to see if I would have any luck finding a user or video that would help figure out just who roland jarvis is and what role he plays. Thats when I ran into this weird video posted by Roland Jarvis on the 13th of Jul the same day he joined.. I dont think many have found this yet as only 25 views have been recorded. the video is a kaleidoscope of colors and someone talking but slowed down to the point that it is unintelligible at the current speed.


I didnt see anything posted about this on the wiki, enjoy the creepiness

This Jarvis guy is creepy alright. I extracted the audio, cut out uninteresting parts and speeded it up. (I even played it backwards and it doesn't make any sense.)

Maybe somebody will hear something I didn't.

It takes you to a blown up version of the JARVIS thumbnail, though text is missing from the upper right side. There's also brail hidden in the bottom left. It seems to spell GMVNMVGSTROMV. Note also the image itself seems to have been drawn by the same person who drew the weird Zurich picture yesterday or the day before. Also the image itself is also contained in Tycho poster 2. I did some google searching and there was a Captain Jarvis Roland. No mention of him being an artist though.
