Pretty sure it's only been brought up in IRC. There doesn't seem to be a pword. Also a nianticproject.blogspot.com, invite only.

Also, 3vh1v was finally solved, for those following that lead who haven't heard.

Only with regards to the app, the rest of the game will continue as normal. But yeah, I'm in the same boat.

 		I'm an occasional lurker, who hasn't been involved in an ARG since CTW2!
Will be interesting to see how things pan out, whether an Android phone is essential or not as things progress. I'm guessing that those of us with android devices will be able to work alongside those without, as and when needed... I asked for a code two days ago, but nothing yet.

Don't know if this has been posted, but I read that they're thinking at least a year and a half before any type of conclusion!

Thanks for the trailhead tmargo, I had no idea that it had already been running 17 days!

oh, yeah - I'm thinking 'Enlightened' btw.

is google using this game to obtain various data from public places all over the word?
are they tracking players to create better version of street view, with pictures and paths that google cars couldnt reach?

If they are, it's brilliant. And why not do it this way? If the end goal is to collect data about the world in order to engage people with their physical surroundings, why not collect that data by engaging people?

I really hope they are. It's a much better reason for an ARG than trying to market a finished product that has nothing to do with the game.

That's almost certainly what they're doing, creating a sidewalk equivalent of Streetview.

edit: So I fired up the app, intro was interrupted by a warning to deactivate mock locations. When I got back in, I already have an assigned faction. Not sure if it automatically picks it for you or I missed the choosing part. So I got a reply from twitter, I can choose after finishing the tutorial mission.
