Making a convincing Slender Man? I'm sure this has been brought up before... Ok, so I've never found a good discussion on how to make a convincing Slendy before. I'm not just talking about costume construction, I'm also talking about filming and editing techniques that would help make the costume look more convincing.
Anyone have any ideas?

The costume I've used for Halloween and the like was, well, a black suit over a morphsuit. It makes for an easy costume, though for it to look at all convincing on-camera, you would need to utilize a small bit of visual distortion to smooth over the fact that it's clearly just a dude in a Morphsuit.

You can use fabric to extend black slacks or a black suit, then wear painter's stilts underneath to give the unnatural height.
A morphsuit's a good idea, wish I'd thought of it. Do they make flesh colored ones, or would you have to go with a white one and then use flesh colored stockings to finish the effect?

Nice, I'd never really seen a pair of Painter's Stilts before, but those could work. How would one make the arms look longer to match the height boost from the stilts though?
[edit] Also, since distortion was mentioned as a means to smooth out the rough edges of the costume, does anyone know how exactly the distortion is added? What software is good for this?

I didn't think of Painter Stilts either, but that could work. Extra long sleeves for the hands should work too, as long as he's just standing there.
As for the distortion, you could probably do it in Vegas, I can probably figure it out in after effects

Vegas is great for emulating the MH style of distortion, but any audio program will work, really.
Crank up the amplitude and different reverbs till you can't stand it. Once it's all messed up, lower the amplitude to whatever level you're going for.
That's the basics

A specific tut for this would be great, because I don't even know where to start!

I am lost on making a Slendy head. I bought a cheap white sweatshirt at Salvation Army, and tried to convert the sleeve to the head, and I had little horns from the stitches sticking out. How the FUCK do I make a good Slender Man head?

Seems to me that a couple of white/flesh coloured pantyhoses would do the trick. Maybe a medical mask and a skull cap, to limit any features?

We did a simple white t-shirt with the tie behind his head. Due to the Slenderman's non/slow-moving nature, it's relatively easy to keep a straight view on his front.

I was actually Slender Man for the previous Halloween. All I did was wear a standard business suit and wear I think three white pantyhose.
Only issue was it got hard to breathe/see after a while, especially in the dark.

One of my friends and I talked about this, but with a Zentai suit and a business suit over that. xD
Zentai Suit: http://www.milanoo.com/Skin-Color-Lycra-Zentai-Suit-For-Men-p44532.html
And I'm going to guess a morph suit is something very similar to/the same as a Zentai suit? xD -Would look it up but she's curently watching Angel's games and has several tabs already open- OTL

At the old Haunted House I used to work at we had a ton of these:

It avoid sewing marks, get s stretch fabric, like white spandex, and pull it tight. You can tie/staple/pull it as you see fit, and if it's lumpy in the back, it's fine if it's out of shot. Sometimes these fake featureless heads have a hole in the bottom, so you can hide the excess in there. However, this is only going to work for stationary type Slendy-head, though the spandex might help?
His head always looks too perfectly round/big to me in the ideal versions.. maybe an additional mask to keep the fabric away from your face?
Bleh, now I am just blathering now.

I used a white morphsuit for mine, since it was cheaper. It had seams on the head though*, and the zipper broke fairly easily.
*I covered these up with a hat. At first I didn't want to because Slendy so rarely wears one, but then I discovered that by blocking out light from above, I could see MUCH more easily indoors.
