hidden text file on game cd

hidden text file on game cd

I was rummaging through the bargain-bin at my local Kmart the other day and I picked up a game called Robot Arena 2. After inserting the disk, it didn't autoplay so I opened it up to explore.

By default, I can see all hidden files on my computer and they show up semitransparent (I'm sure most of you do this too.) Well, what strikes me as odd is that there was a hidden text 1kb file on the CD called xOne.

I opened to get this msg: "I'm a loner, Dottie, a rebel..."

I consider myself a gamer and I have never seen a hidden file on a CD like this. Now, I don't really know what to do with this. I'll look on the Robot Arena official site for some stuff. [http://www.robotarena.com/]

It might be nothing, maybe a programmer just being goofy, but I thought; why not just post it anyway? Who knows.

apparently it's a quote from a peewee herman movie. haven 't found an explanation for why it's there beyond 'someone decided to put it there'. ???

You're RIGHT! Whew, I thought it sounded familiar, it's been forever since I've seen that movie. IIRC, Dottie's his girlfriend, and she wants to marry him, and he claims he's a 'rebel,' and rides away on his little red bike. Laughing

Anyways, it's probably just there for the programmer's amusement, a so-called "easter egg." They're pretty common in the software biz, check out http://eeggs.com/tree/153.html...
