gramma i am right there with you. i can see it, it might be a fan girl stretch but i can see it too. or perhaps it's my hope and wish for a half life movie and another game but hey. as for the movie itself it looks awesome! reminds of being a kid watching voltron.

@Distraction: Cherno Alpha is the one I find the coolest also!! I dunno why... but it just seems super badass with that thing on its head!

As to the whole GLaDOS thing... it seemed to me like a really conscious decision by del Toro to use the same voice actor and the same voice filter for her. He could've easily done the same filter with a different actor or same actor with no or different filter. I think he knows the kind of visceral reaction gamers have to that voice now and is using it to play us Razz

I also don't think del Toro needs or wants to use the GLaDOS voice as a cheap gimmick to make more people see his movie. Just my two cents Smile

My Japanese is a little rusty but there are bits there that translate to "the edge of the sea" so I don't think that is a clue.

Wait a sec, what does that "QZRN7" thing mean? That can't be the name of the TV news channel in the mage, can it? Or maybe it's something more than that. I tried putting into the PPDC url as part of it and it re-directed to the main site anyway. Wonder if it's meant for something? If my theory's right, we might a continuation of the viral around the start of Wondercon in about 2 weeks or so.

That or it might be just nothing. What do you think? Just to be safe, i've posted this question on the Pacific Rim FB page to get some theories or maybe even a hint from the page itself if I'm lucky....
