Based on Google Calculator, I think that puts you at just about 5 foot 8? Or someone who's better with conversions could correct me.

That's close. 175cm is like 69 inches (it actually is like 68.8something inches so i'm rounding) that's like 5' 9" or so

It's kind of weird that Serum didn't create this thread himself. I sort of just noticed that.

Someone with more patience than me should count how many times "Tim" is said in the thread so far. It's probably close to timfinity... Which reminds me of the epic Troy Story picture with Tim as Buzz Lightyear. To timfinity, and beyond!

Bro, no.

Centimeters, millimeters, kilometers, pretty much anything that ends in 'meters' sucks ass. Even the most evil president to ever live, Ronald Reagan, tried to covert the US to that crap and quickly pulled the plug on it because in between his genocide-based agenda he realized nobody understands what the hell any of it means.

It drives me even further up the proverbial wall when somebody refers to weight in pounds as "stone," like, they weigh 'five stone.' What the shit does that mean? Do the scales over there not have enough numbers to accommodate anyone who weighs a hundred and fifty pounds? What in Tim's name is 'stone?' I'll tell you what it is: a rock, something you'd find in the bloody quarry.

Long story short, yes, I like the imperial stuff.

I have no idea who even started this thread, to be honest. I had thought about making what would become this thread and entitling it "Sutton's Corner: All Tim, All the Time," but someone beat me to it with the thread's current OP and title.

I have no idea what a stone is other than a rock. It's an imperial measurement I know that much. Also yeah if you spell metres meters, that's completely wrong and a whole different meaning. Kilometer, is something that measures kills or something, whereas a kilometre is a distance.

Metric measurements are used everywhere outside the US I believe except in the UK where they use a mix, depending on what they are talking about.

Metric is also the way of science

Hazman is right about the UK. Serum, you'd hate it here. We use centimetres for scientific measurements, miles for roadsigns, stones for weight (except for doctors who for some reason use the metric version - kilograms or some sh*t like that), feet and inches for human height, but metres (note spelling) for building heights. Also in athletics we use metres to measure sprints, but miles to measure long distance running. I admit, we're pretty messed up.

Stones are so much easier. You know where you are when someone says they're 13 stone or whatever. So you weigh 164 pounds exactly? Who needs to be that precise?

I get that they'd use that for their own records, but find it funny that whenever you go for a health check up, they consistently give you weight in kilograms (or whatever) first, then notice the look of incomprehension on your face and give you the figure in stones and pounds. So they can do both. Basically I don't know anyone my age who gets metric weight measurements. Though that could say more about the state of our schooling than anything...

This conversation is embarrassing for anyone who graduated high school.
