off topic from Star Trek, but this might explain your issue. http://www.theatlanticwire.com/technology/2013/02/facebook-broke-internet/61929/

Well... the only thing I'm seeing is they look like dates.

Feb 8th - 13th. Which iiiiiis today! Well, the 8th is today. So hopefully these numbers actually mean something and it's some sort of countdown to the 13th or 14th?

A countdown does seem sort of right, what with Single's Awareness Day being the 14.

ETA: Or, they could be certain seats in an auditorium/theater?

Single's Awareness Day seems like a great time to start an ARG!

And certain seats in a theater seems... a bit too specific. Especially since a lot of movie theaters don't number their seats and most... other theaters use letters as well as numbers.

I would be thinking phone number if we could find one more number :/

Knowing JJ, it wouldn't be that big of a shock.

The only problem with them being phone numbers is they seem too sequential to be. You'd think they'd get one ending with 1701, as that'd make more sense. UNLESS, of course, they're going to be 208-1701, 209-1701, etc. If so, we'd need to figure out which area code to use. Probably San Francisco, since that's where the Academy is. But I digress. That seems a bit too easy.

Hmmm looks like 209 is actually an area code for central California but the area code for San Francisco is 415. 213 is in downtown LA... so I guess either of the CA area codes could be relevant but I don't want to be calling random numbers to find out.

(208 is in Idaho, 210 is a small area in Texas, 211 doesn't exist, 212 is in Manhattan, 214 is also in Texas)

ETA: I kinda forgot how phone numbers work.. I guess we'd need to do something like (209) xxx-1701 to get to the central CA number...

Something else we might not want to forget is that, in the picture where the numbers are, at the very top, you can see the bottom of a closed bracket. So, there's more numbers in it for sure. 205, 206, 207, and maybe more. I was also considering that they may correspond to Season 2 of Enterprise, leading up to Episode 13.

It could also be of the original Star Trek from the 1960s. I find this more likely because Kirk and Spock and company r still in that series. Maybe hinting at a crossover or plot similarity?

KRE-O

Anyone else having trouble getting the app to recognize the KRE-O pics on startrek.com? I got credit for the two EW covers (and a promotion to ensign!) but can't get the KRE-O pic to scan.

I'm having the same problem. I couldn't find any larger copies around the net either. I thought maybe it was due to the color scheme and the amount of white. So I've spent the last 15-20 minutes adjusting the hue, contrast, sharpness, brightness, and a handful of other variables, still couldn't get the image to register.

I didn't see the KRE-O mission until this morning despite reloading several times during the day yesterday. I too could not find an image that successfully scanned.

Well, I tried with the high-res image. I got it to lag a bit like it did when it finally got the image right on the other ones, but that didn't last long at all. Here's what I got to get it kinda register. Maybe someone can improve or maybe even get it from this. Also, has anyone tried to print it out and give it a shot?

Same here.. but I noticed the app asked for the latest images (plural) so I scanned every one on the page at ST.Com and when I got to the video at the end it gave me 4 vibrations on my iPhone.. as if to say I had completed the mission.. but no score or change of rank..
Completely unimpressed with this app so far..
