 		Quick update from the comics
'Countdown to Darkness' comic 2 reveals a couple of interesting things.

1) Robert April is a former captain of the Enterprise, who marooned himself on a planet called Phaedus 20 year prior. He is breaking the 'Prime Directive' and assisting with a military coup there against a group he calls 'The Shadows'. Whilst this is a break from canon it is coherent with Abrams' new timeline.

2) April's 1st officer was called 'Alex Marcus', he may, or may not, be related to Carol Marcus. This also is a break from canon as Christopher Pike was originally his executive officer. Marcus covered up April's AWOL behaviour by declaring him dead. He may be passing technology to April via an apparent female Bajoran merchant named 'Mudd'

Robert April appeared in the cartoon episode of TOS named 'The Counter-Clock Incident'. In that episode he and his wife Sarah (Who was his chief medical officer on the Enterprise) revert to a much younger age (to their prime of their lives in fact!). They later choose to be old again, according to that dubious canon.

In Star Trek: The Motion Picture we find out Kirk has a son 'David' from Carol Marcus. If we're looking for space operatics with how far you'd go for your 'family' this seems like a heady cocktail of ingredients.

This info is two weeks old, but I haven't seen it posted up here and I've been too busy to get here sooner. I expect April 1st 2013 might be a obvious red herring, but if the comics are to be included in the ARG then I think we share our thoughts on them.

No 'app' for me sadly so I'm watching from the sidelines until it starts up properly. Any time soon would be nice PMs Wink

 		According to Trekmovie.com we're getting a short (1:16) 'alternate' trailer with Oz tomorrow and the longer (2:00+) theatrical with G.I. Joe on the 28th or 29th.
It goes without saying, but keep your eyes peeled, this 'alternate' trailer might have something AYT1701? related.

For those playing the Star Trek game on their Apple device there is an update available now that addresses the bugs in the initial release. I don't know if they will all be fixed but it's got to help!
