Mine arrived in Atlanta today following their usual schedule of mailings where I get it days after most people. I was a little disappointed that putting the black envelope under a black light did not reveal any hidden puzzle but it was appreciated none the less.

Chicago Scored!
AWESOMENESS!!!!
Got mine today, and of course I did the SAME THING many others have done, run it under a UV light. Nothing on the card, but I think there is either a clue, or UV reactive postage markings on the back bottom of the envelope. Anyone else have them on theirs?

Very similar to mine but will have to post the pic tomorrow. The code on the front did not use fluorescent ink so the one on the back may need further investigation. Mine also looked like it had been double printed and I figured it was the Post Office putting it there.

Orange Barcode is probably Post Office stamped A quick search located this paragraph that explains why the barcode might be there. It would appear that the metallic label on the front gives the automatic readers a hard time and they have to have it remotely validated:
Quote:
The The Integrated Data Systems (IDS) was originally developed and deployed in 1998 to collect bar code data for two programs. The first, Identification Code Tracking, tracks letter mail through the automated distribution system, where IDS collects information from several kinds of bar codes. One is the orange Identification Code placed on the back of letters for Remote ZIP Encoding. Similar to a license tag, the unique code identifies individual mail pieces and is applied to letter mail when high-speed sorters cannot correctly read address image information necessary to apply barcodes. In this case, the physical mailpiece bearing the orange bar code on the back remains at the mail processing center. The scanned address image is "e-mailed" off-site to a Remote Encoding Center where human operators read the scanned image, key in the correct ZIP Code information, and then "e-mail" the data back to the mail processing plant. There the correct barcode is matched to the physical envelope bearing the unique orange license tag so the mail piece can continue automated processing.
The thickness of the card may have caused the double or triple stamping that is on there. Either that or it's actually a clue....

Got the card and I love all the game image references. I also went to the 42entertainment.com site and they've done a major redesign. Looks nice. There were a couple of their previous projects under "Work" that I hadn't heard about.

Nothing up here in the Great White North (all the whiter this past week, big snowfall), unless it's trapped in my frozen-shut mailbox. I was a participant in that whole Icefly thing (I don't remember it being by them, but given its mention earlier in this thread, and my own bad memory, I'm willing to bet that it was and I just forgot), as well as registered on their mailing list thing. Don't know if they've forgotten us Canucks, or I wasn't 'enough' of a participant (kind of dropped out of Icefly thing early, real life got in the way), or if it's just lost in the mail/only went out to a few select people/actually is trapped in my frozen-shut mailbox.

Well knowing how things are with the U.S./Canadian boarder mail service. It is probably locked up in a cage somewhere waiting on a someone to say it is ok to go through. I have waited over a month on mail from the great white north before so I wouldn't lose total hope Kunuks. thebruce must have the worlds largest ARG museum in his house anyway Got to leave something to trade.

Just found out today that the post office lost the certified mail that contained my health insurance paperwork. I wonder why they are going broke.

Sympathy, fellow forgotten hoser... We'll get them soon (or at least you will, I mean last I remember, you were a pretty big name in the ARG community, on the players' side at least).

Yay! Me has blackened card of Christmas cheer! Arrived it did on Friday. Waaaay late. Same as everyone else, signed by the staff.
And honestly, something makes me think there's a message in the card design... when has 42 ever simply designed something visually creative without some kind of hidden message or game?

But also when has 42E ever done a Holiday card either? I don't know have they? But I think it's easy to say they have atleast one project lined up for this year!

I think this calls for a name-the-artifacts game (pretty sure everything in the design is from a project they've done)

ETA: except, maybe, the basic decorations =P

Maybe by identifying all the past 42e projects represented on the card, there may be a clue to an upcoming one? Right off the bat I see:
Project--- approx. clock position
Alactraz -1
Flynn Lives--2&9
Why So Serious -12
Hex 168 -2
Random Acts of Fusion -6
I love Bees -9
Last Call poker -9
Year zero -10
