I got the same thing.
Took pictures of the package. THANATOS may be THANAT DS or D5.
Same sticker on the unuseable disc.

Addressed to my real name (which I don't usually use in ARG stuff).

I'm not sure about the immersion level. The stamps are the usual 55(gold eagle) and the other is the governor of Puerto Rico Luis Marin.

One other thing is the THANATOS is on a hot pink sticker, probably so it would catch my eye.

I got the cd today also. I didn't even open it cause I thought it was from AOL. I will post pictures in the morning. Mine also has the same strange picture as Kona's and Greywolf, but the sticker on the outside says "Fragile Computer Equipment Enclosed" and then in blue marker are the letters o and w on the sticker.

*Edited to add pictures and following comments: As was pointed out by Ras I suppose the letters O and W could be 0 and 3. It was addressed using my real name. The stamps are 40 cent Rio Grande and a 22 cent Uncle Sam. I can see the first three letters of the postmark TAM could be Tampa Bay.

Hub: "Yeah, it's in the trash outside."
Me: "DOH!!"

So yeah, I got the disk. Looks like it's been microwaved! No colored bar sticker on the CD, but it might have fallen off because the CD pocket seals came open. There's a bright pink sticker on the outside that says, "FRAGILE: COMPUTER EQUIPMENT ENCLOSED" with either "R 2" or "R Z" handwritten in blue Sharpie on it.

I got one as well. Same colored picture taped to the quite fubared CD inside. Stamps of Luis Martin ($.05), Uncle Sam ($.22) and Snoopy ($.34). My real name is on an address label, and the pink sticker on the cover was of the "Fragile:" variety, with "O 3" in blue marker on it.

the colored bars remind me of an early JMX puzzle.

each bar represented a letter and then it was simple substitution.

problem here is that we don't have enough bars and no repeats to show obvious words like "the" and "and".

oh, konashark tried looking at the sticker under black light - nada. but i'm so proud of him for trying! addy, you need to retrain your hubby to be suspicious of strange mail.

So, we have THANTOS, OW, R2 (or RZ), O3. Hmmmmmm...
Bet there are more discs out there. Come on people, rummage in your trash today

Sorry, the above post was me. I'm having a heck of a time posting anything to UF. When I try to post I keep getting "invalid session" and if the post goes thru half the time it posts as guest. I will try to remember to sign my posts from now on.

I would go with an "OW" rather than an "03"....only because the marker left the page at the upper right corner of the "W" and the only way I could see it being a "3" is if the person writes his/her 3s from the bottom up (which most people don't do).

Ok, I don't have a scanner, but I do have a webcam...

I took snapshots of the pink sticker and the stamps. Didn't bother with the disc, seeing how it's pretty much the same as everyone elses.
