I don't know, that could be a backwards/messed up question mark... kind of like this one:

Now that I think about it, ToTheArk is sort of like Marble Hornet's answer to Batman's Riddler.

I doubt that he is. Laughing

No no, I think you misunderstood-- I didn't say the Riddler from Batman was in Marble Hornets, I said that ToTheArk is a character similar to the Riddler from Batman, but in Marble Hornets.

EDIT: "continue on", backwards

Gonna put this out there real quick: "Continue on backwards" maybe? TTA is encouraging Jay to keep looking for answers in the past... particularly given that there's old footage and old characters featured in this video. "Continue on" backwards might be a wordplay and a hint to the theme of this video.

using Greek numeric conversion you get:

περισσῶς μακρός

Which translates into English as:

"Perissos Away"

Perissos is defined as:

1.beyond measure, extraordinary

2.greatly, exceedingly

I'm afraid this is a dead end. Sad The site in question cannot deal with numbers that are too big, and 'περισσῶς μακρός' is just a clever way to inform the user in greek that the number is 'beyond measure'. You can trigger the same output if you simply spam 999999999999999999999999999 into the text box.

But I do believe that converting the numbers to some ancient language could be the right way to go. Ancient languages like hebrew for example did not have a system of numbers, so they had to express numbers through their alphabet. This is how 666 can be translated to 'Nero Ceaser' in hebrew, check this video out if you're interested in details: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkZqFtYtqaI

The reason why I find this a possible way of cracking the code is because it does not contain zeroes. Ancient cultures in fact did not think of zeroes as a number, and would simply put spaces in place of zeroes.

Of course I might be overthinking this.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I have no idea how elaborate Troy can be with TTA puzzles, would he go as far as researching ancient languages
Still if someone is bored take a crack at it, here is a site with instructions on how to convert numbers to different alphabets: http://easycalculation.com/funny/numerals/greek.php
Maybe try adding the whole line of numbers or sections of it together.

No I didn't, I'm just saying that I wouldn't compare The Riddler to ToTheArk.

Happy New Year to you and to everyone here!!
This theory of "continue on, backwards" makes sense to me. I have been trying to decode those numbers at the end, to no avail, but it does seem like the first part is a question, what with all the question marks after it, before the second part. But this, the description : continue on, backwards... YES! Makes total sense, since you put that comma there. They are going to go to the hospital and maybe Tim will fill Jay in on some things from the past.
I really like this TTA video, the TV crumbling part is so well done, and I laugh a bit each time I watch the huge eyes on the tv part, it looks like a big pair of spectacles sitting there in the woods Laughing

The symbol on Tim's shirt isn't the sigma. They said in season 1 commentary that you can only see part of it. It's actually a monkey in a suit holding a gun, or something along those lines.

It's conceivably either a final sigma -- ς, lowercase sigma as it appears at the ends of words -- or a digamma, ϛ, an obsolete letter now used only for the number 6 in traditional Greek numerals. (Like Roman numerals, only with Greek letters standing in for quantities instead of Latin letters.) The two are similar in shape and not easy to tell apart without context, and even in context are occasionally confused. For instance, the number 666 in Revelation 13:16 is properly written χξϛ (χ=600 ξ=60 ϛ=6) but you'll often find ς instead of ϛ since the two resemble each other so closely.

Digamma when used as a number is often called stigma, after a Byzantine-era ligature of sigma-tau (στ) which came to be written the same way and was used in Greek, typography very often through the 19th century. So it could stand for the word "stigma" all by itself. Only, I can't recall that word coming up in relation to MH before.

I'm still not seeing a sigma in Surveillance.

Someone would have to be VERY bored, I would think. Trouble is, it can't be as simple as grouping digits by 2 or 3 -- to reach the full Greek alphabet, you need to use numbers from 1 through 800.

So the first 4 digits 7975 can be read:
οθοε (79, 75)
οθζε (79,7,5)
ζθζε (7,9,7,5)

It's true that some combinations are probably excluded. I haven't shown (797,5) or (7,975) because they'd require the letters ϟ (koppa) and ϡ (sampi) for 90 and 900 respectively, and neither is used phonetically in modern Greek.

And then, which language? Based on this bit above, I'm not hopeful for Greek. This may be a hopeless exercise.

What if the answer is simple and we are just complicating it. I think it has nothing to do with greek alphabet... but well I couldn't decipher it either so i will keep my mouth shut.

There are some coincidences in this code i can't get over it and believe it's just a coincidence.

79 75 83 27 72 72 24
83 75 68 13 83 27 79

68 83 57 68 24 83
79 79 83 57 75 57

The rows fit under each other. If you subtract the numbers in the two blocks, you get

14 0 15 14 11 45 55
11 4 26 11 51 26

I tried octal, didn't work tho. BUT I still think it's something in this area, not other languages. Look how some of them are backwards, like 75 and 57 and 27 and 72. There must be a connection.

The background of question marks could be part of the message?

I mean,
this, 79 75 83 27 72 72 24 83 75 68 13 83 27 79 ?, a question,
this one, 68 83 57 68 24 83 79 79 83 57 75 57, an answer or a statement.

Or backward more likely:

79 27 83 13 68 75 83 24 72 72 27 83 75 79 ?
57 75 57 83 79 79 83 24 68 57 83 68 .

possibly has no meaning, but there are 352 question marks at that appear on screen, and if the ones cut off on the edge are supposed to count as one, it makes it 341.

P.S. Yeah, that's about as far as I've got with this Razz
