Here's the "show your work" version. Because why not.

Code:

The letters:

13 24 35 46 57 68 79 83 95 03 15 27 39
an bo cp dq er fs gt hu iv jw kx ly mz

The codes:

79 75 83 27 72 72 24 83 75 68 13 83 27 79
gt re hu ly yl yl bo hu re fs an hu ly gt

with letters picked at random: trulyyourfault

68 83 57 68 24 83 79 79 83 57 75 57
fs hu er fs bo hu gt gt hu er re re

with letters picked at random: shesoutthere

95 13 39 03 13 79 35 83 95 31 79
iv an mz jw an gt cp hu iv na gt

with letters picked at random: iamwatching

Is there a trick to picking which letter goes with each number? Either way, I think there's only one plausible way to arrange them and this solution satisfies me. Congratulations for figuring it out. :O

I can't help but feel there's some ambiguity in those messages.

We should probably try to see if we can get other messages out of the codes, using this method; just in case this was coincidence. I think this is a pretty cool cypher though. Use it yourself in the future, people.

I can just imagine:

Jay: "Someone solved the puzzle?! Let's see what... ... ...thank you, TTA. Real helpful."

good work guys

the order of the pairs seems like a real stretch of our abilities to me (not really a crypto expert though) but i think this is definitely the solution.

I tweeted at Jay so he knows that the puzzle is (probably) solved. Not trying to take credit for figuring it out or anything; I don't think Jay's going to acknowledge who specifically replied to him anyway. Just figure flooding him with messages might get the point across faster. ;P

This is kind of an uninformative message other than letting us know that Jay is still going to chase after Jessica (as if that wasn't obvious from a narrative point of view). It really doesn't mean that she's even really "out there", since TTA could have ample motivation to lie about it for all we know. Anything to keep Jay moving, right?

Still, a really cool puzzle. Hats off.

Good thinking and great work! Once a vindication Tweet shows up, we can all heave a collective sigh of... further puzzlment over TTA's typically cryptic blurb.

Not the solution I was hoping for, but it's alright I guess. The only real thing that's "revealing" about that message is the "She's Out There" line. I guess that tells us Jessica is still alive? Still it was a cool little puzzle quest.

Hopefully a new entry isn't far off, now that this puzzle is solved. Or at least I think it's solved.

I can't believe we were all overthinking this when in reality it was in front of us the whole time. Trosephim probably knew we would and probably did this to keep us occupied Wink

Gotta agree. It's pretty cool, but I'm sure there are those who feel this was a colossal waste of time (which I completely understand, because it was). At least we have a cool cypher I can use...

Edit: Also, I looked at the codes again, and I couldn't find another message either. So if it's not the right method, it is at least a credible one.

At least it's not just another "Oh Jay, in case you're wondering, I'm still watching you". If Jessica really is "still out there", that's pretty significant. And even if she isn't, Jay's reaction to this will be interesting.

So if we really needed to solve this before the next entry could be posted, I'm guessing that either Jay's feelings of guilt or Jessica herself will make an appearance.

I completely agree. It was a well-thought and entertaining diversion, and one that I have really enjoyed collaborating on... Not that anything I did provided value other than provide examples of what not to do.

Funny how he still got in his "watching" thing, because of the tweet. Ha!

So... we discard the idea that the destroyed TV in the video means he isn't watching anymore? (Because of the IAMWATCHING tweet...)
