I'm not entirely convinced that Corenthal was inHabited, but there is a pretty big jump from the I'm-so-sorry-guys-suit-wearing man in TCC[ to the man we see in the property, even in the way he was speaking. There was also the flash of purple, which I think has only happened around Habit?

Like in the most recent video, just about every time Ev/Habit does anything the screen flashes through black and white to purple. See 5:47 and 8:38 in the most recent vid.

That is interesting, but I still don't see why HABIT would save Vince from Slenderman, &/or why Slenderman would just take that shit from HABIT.

Maybe he's been inHABITed, but is not under HABIT's control?

Ok, first of all, hi, I am brand new to this forum and, keeping that in mind I have not read all of the hundreds of thread pages before this one (believe it or not). But I have read the last 5 or so pages from the 2012 thread and most of EMH wiki.

So, having said that, here is my Grand Unified Theory of the meaning of EMH, apologies in advance if these ideas have been well covered already.

The Hybrids and the three demons are mirrors of each other. The HYBRIDS represent the best of humanity:
Jeff represents knowledge and the mind with his constant digging to uncover truth and unravel mysteries and his somewhat cold, detached analysis of situations.
Evan represents the physical fighting of evil and represents the body. He doesn't think twice to rush headlong against anyone or anything that threatens himself or his loved ones.
Vince represents the love and emotional support of others and represents the soul. He is the heart of the group and constantly tries to raise there spirits and keep them together and displays emotion most often and with the most range.

Conversely, the demons represent evil in the world:
Slenderman represents death: cold, emotionless, always lurking in the back of everyone's minds, controlling humanity's minds and actions, stalking humanity in the darkness, emerging suddenly and without warning to finish the job.
The Rake represents mindless physical violence. He doesn't waste time with mind games or strategy; just slash and kill without hesitation or remorse.
HABIT represents mankind's worst emotions: hatred, apathy, vanity, power-lust, sadism and cruelty, he rarely says anything without emotional inflection. HABIT is obsessed with making his targets fear and revere him through constant talk of his power and exploits and through the mind games he plays. Rather than simply controlling the minds of his victims, HABIT consumes their body until they are nothing but HABIT's dark emotions.

Dr. Corenthal can be seen as representing science: constantly trying to uncover ways to resist and overcome mankind's dark emotions, violence, and even death through his constructs such as

That's what ultimately did it for me.

Habit!Corenthal "saving" Vin isn't the first time one of the villains has stepped in and stopped one of the guys from getting hurt though. In Jessie, Slendy stops Jeff from getting (presumably) killed by the Rake.

The only problem I have with that theory is that it's really unlikely that Steph has the same significance as Alex, Daniel, etc. HABIT & Slenderman go to great lengths to unite her with the EMH cast, she shares her name with one of the Fairmount Children, & she has the "Monster BO" in her blood. Yet, as has often been pointed out, there's no "fourth monster" if everyone is linked to one in specific. Also, I do believe that HABIT says that Slenderman can't mind control the four.

As far as Habinthal goes, yes, Slenderman saved the gang from the Rake, but we also got his motivation--he had plans for them, & he wasn't about to let the Rake kill them. I don't see what HABIT gets out of just letting Vince go.

I'm starting to wonder if maybe Vince's significance has something to do with the black fluid he throws up every time Slenderman is nearby.
