Ever since the pills were introduced as possibly staving off TO, I began to worry that this would turn the way of Hypnocil from Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and Freddy vs. Jason

Spoilering so I don't ruin some of the points of the slasher films. If you don't want these horrible, terrible, bad movies from being spoiled, please don't hover over the red spoilered text below! You've been warned:

It's pretty clear how it's going to end up, actually:

THE OPERATOR lunges towards JAY. ALEX, who we discover, has been under the thrall of THE OPERATOR the entire time and made to act as if he had some agency, shields JAY and TIM*

Then, he stops, and shakes his head.

*Suddenly, inexplicably, an empty oval hole appears towards the centre of his face, muscle extrudes from it, flesh forming over it, ALEX, JAY AND TIM stare in wide-eyed fascination as pink overcomes this ugly gash of flesh to reveal lips*

THE OPERATOR: I'm sorry. He's made me do this.

*HOODY oppears through the door and he takes off his mask to reveal....BRAIN!*

TIM: BRIAN! It was you the whole time!

BRIAN: Tim - I-

VOICE APPEARS: (It is cultured. Upper British. Distungished) No, gentleman, it was I! (He walks through the door - a la Scream 2 with a gun to Brian's back)

It is a dog. A dog standing up on his, holding a gun in his paws.

Rocky.

ALEX: But, Rocky, WHY?!

ROCKY: Because, my dear, dear, Alex, I have always hated you.

I just had the best thought ever. I hope it hasn't alread been said. Tim and Jay confront the Operator in a Scooby-doo style ending, rip off his face and reveal, Hoodie. But then the real Hoodie jumps round the corner and falls into another trap they had set up. They rip his hood off and reveal, Brian for an obvious reveal. Brian says all the generic Scooby-doo lines, I would of got away with it if it wasn't for you medling kids, blah blah blah ect. So deduce for like 5 minutes who could be under the other hood, and talk about everything. Then they reveal who's under the Operater/Hoodie hood and it's, Jessica! She was The Operator all along. And then Alex comes into the scene and says how he's known it was Jessica all along and that TiMasky ruined the whole thing as he was going to shoot her in what ever entry it was where Jay, Jessica and Alex where all in the abandoned building in the forest and he's got Rocky tailing behing him.

Anyway tl;dr, Scooby-doo ending.

Jay and Tim are the last men standing. They learn The Operator can't be destroyed, or even stopped, but there is a way to get it out of THEIR lives forever: by selecting a new target for it. This will cause a conflict between them. Can they ruin someone else's life to save their own by deliberately setting this thing on to them? Do they have the right to? And it'll end without a definitive answer.

I don't feel like it will end with more than a few insignificant loose ends. Troseph(im) fully understands how much the series means to us fans and will do their best to make a satisfying ending.
