Hmm... seems a little vague. Doesn't really seem all legit, could be a game but there's not enough yet. If it is I like the video game twist. Though the Ne York Journal Ledger is hosted by the same site as the PixelVixen site.... I'll keep an eye out.

There's two more websites that are directly related to this.
www.brinkvalepsychiatric.com
www.thinkthebrink.com
Both are registered through GoDaddy.com, the first is the hospital that Zach works at, the second is a support group online. There is a lot of stuff to read on those two pages. Still don't know if it is an ARG, but if it is, it could be a cool one. I sent an email to Brinkvale Psychiatric to see if they thought I might benefit from some of Zach's art therapy. If I get a response I shall post it.

I noticed on the Brinkvale staff login that the user/pas is just begging to be found. If you chose the 'Forgot password?' link, you get the clue 'Little brother's name'.
Read Burke Pendleton's profile to understand that something is amiss.
I am having trouble getting to a couple of sites right now. Maybe someone can look at ThinkTheBrink and check through the forums for some more info.
Also, check out Zach's MySpace page for some pics.

Here's what I've gathered from the ThinktheBrink forums
*All of the users in this forum appear to be former patients of The Brink.
*It would appear that the user, Melisande went on trial for the murder of her husband who died under "highly unusual...circumstances"
*The user Johnny Cakes seems to have a personal problem with the user The Last Avenger.
*There is definitely something shady going on in the basement, either currently or in the past. There are several references to the lower floors of The Brink being off limits. The user Diamond Lil states:
Quote:
Diamond Lil: "You want to insult someone, call them a "doctor." They're the ones with the secret cemetery in the basement."
Two posts later the forum topic is locked.
I am still searching for anything else of use on that website as well as waiting for an email back from The Brink.

Arg....got scooped on this. Came across it a few days ago, didn't throw up an article while waiting for comment.
In short, this is for Personal Effects: Dark Art.
EDIT: yeah, what ifihadahifi said.

Sure enough, Google Personal Effects: Dark Art and you'll find J.C. Hutchins' website. It outlines what this is all about. Sadly, it also states that the corresponding book that ties into the web-based stuff doesn't come out until Summer 2009. definitely seems like something that could be worth looking into then.

Wow I just spent a bunch of time reading the online material, there is a fair amount, and it has me intrigued. It is a shame we have to wait on the book, although the idea of getting an envelope of personal effects sounds like fun.

I had started a Press thread for this game here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=579288#579288 that has a good bit of info.
ARGN also has two recent articles pertaining to this:
http://www.argn.com/archive/000798i_swear_im_not_claiming_all_girl_gamers_are_fake_personal_effects_goes_live.php
(Including an interview with JC Hutchins) http://www.argn.com/archive/000799an_interview_with_jc_hutchins_personal_effects.php
(Please, could a moderator rename the thread to something like "Personal Effects" since this will obviously become something bigger once the novel is released?)

Something might be coming down the road soon -- JC Hutchins posted the following twitter (although based on his twitters, he is kind of a tease )
Quote:
Something will soon be cooking over at JCH.net. Something about Personal Effects: Dark Art. Something you'll want to see.

Double-posting with the update from jchutchins.net -- the book's available for pre-order from Amazon , giving a release date of June 9, 2009.
Cover art looks pretty darn cool. Also provides some useful info if we can find someplace to input it (probably after the staff login at Brinkvale) -- Martin Grace's Patient # is 677319MG.

Well they're not being particularly subtle... But they somehow know me, so I guess I should be honored.
Got invited to their Facebook page:

This is a group for the upcoming ARG Personal Effects.
The first book in the proposed series is called "Personal Effects:Dark Art" and is written by award-winning novelist and podcaster JC Hutchins in conjunction with ARG veteran Jordan Weisman, co-founder of 42 Entertainment (The Beast & I Love Bees).
It is due for release in June 2009.

Well being subtle was never my strong point.....I should point out that I set up this facebook group.
I'm not involved with the game other than being a huge JC Hutchins fan and as a former Perplexcity player I was very interested to hear about JC working on an ARG. I set up the group to spread the word about the game and to discuss it once it starts next summer

PERSONAL EFFECTS: Dark Art The author of the book "Dark Art", as mentioned by degravedi in Press and Other Analysis , has sent an email linking to a page on his website. It seems you can submit "art work" as one of the patients of Brinkvale Psychiatric Hospital . I haven't explored the Brinkvale website yet, so not sure what all is there.
edited to put the title in proper order
