That's how I discovered the mythos too. Well, I had heard of Slenderman before then because of Littlekuriboh's "Concrete Giraffes" parody, but because I didn't bother to look into the character after seeing it, I don't really consider it to be the thing that introduced me to the Mythos.

Hey, you guys remember that time we started a conversation about how we came to the Mythos and then a bunch of us jumped on a mean, weird, alienation train?
Let's go back to the co-supportive, conversational part.
(I'm looking at you, son)

Pcgamer. They made an article on a Gmod update that added limb manipulation. I scrolled down the comments and people said: Lol like slenderman.
I was like HM?
I kept scrolling to find the first few entries of MH. And the years went on.

I actually just remember finding the introduction video from marble hornets in my watch later playlist on youtube one day. i watched that and entry one, then nothing for about a month or two (it legitimately scared me), eventually I worked my way up to 18, at which I shat bricks but persevered nevertheless. By the time I caught up marble hornets was either at its break between seasons two and three, or just a couple entries away. After about a month of silence from marble hornets i grew anxious, i needed more. not entirely sure how, but I found out about tribetwelve, EMH, and dark harvest. i was weary at first (especially of dark harvest) but eventually watched through them. absolutely in awe (and terrified as well) I sought out even more series and now I've seen too many to count at this point, and I don't regret a second of it (except an absolute hunk of shit series here and there, but that's beside the point)

First heard about Slender Man through a comment posted on one of the Ben Drowned videos back when those were still relevant and decided to look it up soon after. I think I started watching Marble Hornets' first few videos, but then ultimately watched EverymanHybrid first instead and, needles to say, I was quite intrigued. I watched Marble Hornets and TribeTwelve shortly after, but for whatever reason, watching Dark Harvest and Angel's Game, which were both still starting out when I got to them, stand out in my memories more. MLAndersen as well, although that was a bit later.

I found a link in the Cracked article about video game urban legends, then jumped straight over to the SA thread and TV Tropes, and from there a dreadful Marble Hornets addiction that hasn't quite let go.

Cue weeks of paranoia, complete inability to walk into the woods, and half-waking up one night as my husband walked into the room and screaming in terror because I had just watched Entry 14 from Marble Hornets before going to bed.

Good times, good times. Razz

Wow.

Well I found out about Slender Man through a really good friend of mine. Her name is Tasha, we used to go to the same college.
I met her the first day I arrived at the college dorms and some weeks later she asked me if I had ever heard about something called the Slender Man. I told her no so she explained to me about the photos that started the popularity of the Slender Man and what he does to people.

So some time later Tasha introduces me to Ciid, aka aciidwire, who also went to our college and Ciid knew all of these amazing people who made the EverymanHYBRID and the Andersen Journals and the Tribe Twelve and the Dark Harvest, and she introduced me to them and we became friends and we rode our unicorns into the rainy sunset while sprinkling fairy dust o'er the land.

The End.

I found out through some strange youtube video, you know the type you stumble upon at like 3 AM, it was like a claymation slenderman with a bunch of marble hornets quotes. So I googled it and came across Just Another Fool, then Dreams In Darkness and I was hooked.

Well...

None other than LittleKuriboh's Concrete Giraffes video. At first I didn't get the footage altogether, plus the soon-to-be my favorite creepypasta character popped up, and I was shrugging it off as some weird looking dude trying to fit in with the filming.

Although, the real deal came after checking his subscriptions, and I found EMH there. And even then I kinda shrugged it off (as expected after the first few episodes), thinking it was just a health vlog. And then there was a recommended video bar with entry where Alex takes Brian to that hospital.

I thought that was cool. And then I discovered Slenderman and a mythos as a whole.
