Fax

Anyone want to guess who sent Jim the fax in the first episode?

mad MAD spec

OK, here's mad spec for you:

I think Martha (from Martha's Boarding House) sent the fax. Maybe it's just because she wanted to see the son of her ex-lover, A. Prufrock (Jim's father). Or perhaps she has other reasons...

Of course you all saw that Martha has one of Jim's father's hankies... "you never know when one of these is going to come back to you..."

However, Enoch says a male faxed the same thing to him, so who knows... and that's why they call it "wild spec" Smile

yep, i'm more interested in who Enoch is as well as who is Enoch's source.

here's what we know about the source:
it's a push old-timer
it's a male
he has access to a fax machine and email
he has access to some sensitive documents
it's someone that wants the Push secret revealed

That rules out Jim and any of the females. My current thought is Shadrach, but I have some doubt. I'm not sold on the idea.

here's what we know about Enoch:
doesn't live in Push
heard about it from a female friend years ago
visited Push years ago
kept in touch with an 'old timer'
very computer able

The only people that I can think of right now are Ira and Jim. I pretty much rule Jim out (didn't know enough about Push, doesn't seem like the hacker type...access to a federal database and never touched it). Ira, I don't think so...he seems too skittish.

Of course, Enoch could be lying to us about 'the Beginning' as a way to cover his behind. Heck, I don't know.

First, we can't assume that the same person sent the fax to Jim and Enoch. Enoch is in-game, Jim is in-show, so we have to consider the alternatives. While I agree about the spec on who sent Enoch the fax, here's my take on who sent Jim the fax.

MARY

We know the fax came from Silas' office, because of the phone number at the top. Clearly Silas didn't fax it, and I don't think his secretary did either. Who else would have access to Silas' fax? We can't rule anyone out, if we're considering the in-show perspective. But, we know Mary had boyfriendzzzzzzz, and we know Silas was one of them. I think Mary is a tortured soul, forced to play upon others weaknesses while the puppetmasters play upon hers. I think she desperately wants the secrets of Push told, to regain control of herself, and therefore, I believe it is Mary who sent the Fax to Jim.

Here are two items to ponder.

1: who sent the fax?

I have given this some thought. The header with the phone number is the origination of said fax. It came from Silas's office, and no where else. From what we have seen so far, that leaves, Silas, Ginger, and the VP that the suits despise. If the vp has the combo to the safe, I am fairly confident that he would have access to silases office. They are probably adjoining in some capacity. Ginger said he sent it himself. I actually am leaning towards Silas as the originator of the fax. Get push into such a turmoil over an investigation, they would be to busy to go looking for him. The only reason I haven't made a definite conclusion in my mind, is that discusted tone he used in saying "Genius" upon learning it wound up into the I.R.S.'s hands. Either he was the leak, or knew the leak was going to happen.

I want to double check something, the fax only indicated embezzlement, it didn't represent the theft from the vault. That is two actions. Odd that it would be leaked out the day of the Robbery, of course it's part of the plan.

2: Enoch's Connection:

I believe that it is "The Artist" that just inked Jim. I say this because of the peyote which is a hallucinogen. Jim made it adamently clear who informed him of the assasins identity. I expect this thursday the artist dies. Or the following week, depending on how difficult they make it (and complicated) to get Jim off the hook, at least temporarily.
