The only real complaint I have is that they write the story in a way that something is supposed to happen immediately, and then wait a month to show us.

They shouldn't set it up like that in the first place. It's easy to have a character say "ill call you when something comes up"

Basically anything that sets an idea of release for the entry is a bad idea at this point. The only tweets we should be getting are big discoveries by Jay, unspoilery screenshots, and the entry when they're released.

Don't tell us something like "we're going back tmrw night" and then have that be the day you film it, it should be the day you post the new video

So, I'm not allowed to debate with others about their opinions?

Yeah, no. Sorry, but that doesn't work. Especially since I was directly challenged.

"Challenged" (read: responded to... this isn't a fight, dude) because you called people impatient, which is a little unfair.

I was challenged though. I was challenged about whether or not it was completely off topic to talk about. Which, seeing as I was the one who started the topic...

You didn't state what the true topic was then... you exact quote for the topic was

Quote:
It seems the fanbase as it stands is getting fairly unsatisfied with the progression of Marble Hornets as a whole, and people have been posting in threads extreme disappointment and complete apathy about the series's direction.

That sounds Like we can only talk about the show itsself, especially the Whole word...

Yes, it sounds like I was wondering what would satisfy people in terms of pure on screen content. I don't want to dance and parade around OOG production hurdles that have already been beat to hell and back by people like Pravado.

Speaking of which...

Yes, I agree that that should be handled better. However, that was not my main point of discussion. I want to shove the whole tweet and wait thing aside for this thread, because it was not created with the intention of discussing that. I want to discuss purely onscreen content and how it pertains to the story; the reveals, the plot threads, the tension... I could have been clearer in my OP. I apologise for that.

No, but this entry *was* delayed by weather, and that's one of the reasons why they couldn't put it out on time. The tweet thing was a goof, but talking about it is beating a dead freaking horse at this point given how much people have complained about it already. I want to talk about the actual content of the show. What we see on screen.

Okay, but you asked what would satisfy us, and I'm responding with my answer. Make a less vague thread next time if you only want to talk about content.
I wasn't really specifically talking about this entry, so I don't see why you're so hung up on it. I'm talking about their pattern of doing this. The weather thing and the tweet thing could have been avoided. There are always going to be things to hinder production-- that's why they have to plan the releases better/film things in advance.

adaminator1 wrote:

I can call people impaitent because they complain all the time. It's not *paitent* to complain about having to wait literally every time for the entry to come out.

Everyone complains about something. Have you even seen the rage thread? This is a problem that has been going on for a long time unaddressed. People are going to complain when there's a problem. That's life. And we are still far more patient than most people. We waited 2 months, didn't we? Now we're impatient for suggesting that Trosephim plan better to avoid this in the future?
The word "impatient" is really irrelevant, because you seem more concerned with the complaining. I could just as easily call people out for having "high standards" or being "snobbish" or whatever because they care about the content. The point is that you were being rude rather than actually trying to discuss.

adaminator1 wrote:

And how do you know that they could plan it out? Do you know their life schedule, or are you just making assumptions?

I said this like 4 times, but I'll say it again: the creators have said so themselves. See their various Q&A panels. They basically say "If anyone else is going to make a Youtube series, don't do what we did because we don't film anything in advance."

adaminator1 wrote:

No.

I want to talk about what would satisfy people onscreen. I don't want to hear people complain about OOG production delays. I consider that irrelevant to this thread.

But ultimately you do want people to stop complaining. Fixing the problem=no more complaining.
Also, when you make an open-ended thread like this, you have to deal with the consequences. Start a new "content-only" thread if it bothers you that much. Anyway, isn't discussing the ending/the content that would satisfy the audience *already* OOG?

Dude, do you seriously not think they're trying their freaking hardest to get entries out and balance their real lives? They have fans. Of freaking COURSE they're trying their hardest. I'm not even going to address your last sentence, because it's incredibly disrespectful to Trosephim and completely ignorant.

I think they are trying very hard. I am giving suggestions on how they could make the fans happy without putting themselves under so much pressure (e.g. filming in advance; scheduling filming better; not releasing tweets before the entry is in post-production.) How is it ignorant to say that this kind of constructive criticism is just like any other? There you go with the insults again.

I know you want this thread to be strictly about the entries' content, but most of the dissatisfaction stems from the long waits. I don't think there's that many people who have issue with the actual content of the entries. Season 3 has had some really great and well shot entries. It's just that the waits between them make the less than spectacular entries look even worse since they're not 'worth the wait' as people say. So when you ask how people would be more satisfied, people answer that they want less time between entries because the story itself is just fine. If you watch the entries back to back it's great. But it's been nearly a year since S3 started and hardly anything has happened yet. I just want some mysteries to finally be answered. There's still a ton of unanswered questions from S1 and even a few from S2, and we still have no idea of a lot that happened during the Marble Hornets production.

Another thing, I would like to see some other characters besides Jay, Tim, and Alex get some screen time this season. I like those three but we hardly ever get to see any other characters. (I know that some of the other actors have busy schedules and/or live out of town, but still.... just Jay, Tim, and Alex get boring sometimes).

"Now we're impatient for suggesting that Trosephim plan better to avoid this in the future? "

You... Do know that's not what I'm saying, right? I'm calling the people who complain about the wait itself impatient. We can agree to disagree, but I'm not changing my view on that. The entries will come when they come. Until then, find something else to do. Like watch Kamen Rider. (Which is a freakin' awesome series, by the way, I recommend it.)

The "plan ahead" thing? That's been beaten to death before in many threads, many times. That's why I want to avoid talking about OOG production hurdles in this thread. Can you just accept that?

And? I fail to see the relevance. You're complaining about something the creators themselves have acknowledged.

You're diverting what I said, completley missing the point. The intent of this thread was to discuss purely IG, onscreen content, that did not relate to waits or twitter feeds. I said, DIRECTLY IN THE OP,

Quote:
This is not a "How would you like the series to end" thread. This is me querying your base, passing grade requirements for an ending to Marble Hornets you would deem satisfying.

I don't see how that's "vague".

I edited my post (before you responded to it, though you didn't see because you were still writing it) to change that last sentence because I was being rude and insulting, and didn't mean to. I apologise for that.

And believe me; the reason I started this thread was to discuss onscreen content, what would satisfy them there. It's important in the context of this thread because I don't see that being talked about much, the most I see people talking about IS the wait. And I'm very curious to hear about what would satisfy your dedication to the series in terms of story. I ceartinly do not want to bash the dead horse over the head with a brick while riding a unicycle on a carrot.

Tim explaining why Slendy haunts them or at least who or what ToTheArk is would be satisfactory.

Tim is clearly hiding information, and it should reveal something in regards to slendy or TTA.

You know what I just read?

"Why are you people complaining, what is it you want with the ending?"
"This is what we want."
"That's stupid, & it's not about the ending!"
"But...we're not complaining about the ending."
"STAY ON MY ARBITRARY TOPIC!"

Dude, no one is complaining about the ending because it hasn't happened yet. Your topic makes no sense.

I'm willing to bet that most of the people you've been arguing with will disagree with your assessment.

To put it simply, it ruins the illusion of it being a real time story line. The long waits just turn it into any other series that's on a web.

Yes, you're right about that. However, at some point, there might need to come a time where we accept that none of this is real time and that these people are actors who are doing this for fun. On the web.

I mean, I'm all for immersion, it's what got me into the series to begin with. I mean, the idea that all of this COULD happen was interesting in and of itself. However, like with most popular concepts, the fans have turned it into a "YOU BETTER FINISH THIS" mentality. They could easily stop uploading entries now, ending the series with a tweet. But they don't, and they probably won't just because they love their fans.

Getting back on topic, I think a satisfying ending to MH would be us finally figuring out what ToTheArk really is, if it's a group, or just one person. I would like to know what happened to the crew behind Marble Hornets, and then I would like to actually see the student film, Marble Hornets. Smile

Questions I think need to be answered:
What is Alex's deal?
What is Tim's deal, if he has one? (probably AKA what happened at the hospital?)
Who is Hoody?
What happened to Jessica?

Less important questions:
Why the TTA channel?
What/where is the ark?
Did Alex really remove the sound from some early entries or was that just never-used-again distortion...?
What was Seth's involvement?
I really don't care about Sarah but it'd be cool to see her too.

None of these seem like they'd be that difficult to answer within another 20 entries or whatever. I'm not buying the idea that the fans are getting more and more unpleasable. In fact, I don't even bother posting anything negative anymore because of all the ridiculous fandom people who will tell me to eat shit etc. (not necessarily on this forum). So if anything, the fans are more convinced than ever that MH is perfect. >_>

Explain those and I am done.

Forgot to mention Entry #29 in my last post. That's probably my favourite mystery in the series right now. It was really cool how there seemed to be so many spots in season 2 where it could have been explained, and all of them passed by until now it seems impossible to tie it in anywhere. Could it be something akin to #65, what with the chestcam and fresh blood and whatnot? Who knows? It's so mysterious.

I'd like at least an implied explanation for it at some point before the ending.
