Wasn't necesarry. If what he said wasn't a fact and it came from him, then it was obviously his opinion. Who else's would it be? We're all stating our opinions here for the most part, no point in labelling some but not others.

Yeah, I guess that was kind of unnecessary. Sorry, Magyk.

On another subject, some friends and I were watching earlier entries and I noticed something interesting. This may or may not be relevant, but I think in Entry 18, when Jay goes back to Brian's (?) House, he sees blood drops on the floor and then looks in the sink to find it almost coated in blood.

Then, if you've seen Troy shaves his face, then you'll know what I'm talking about. I wonder if both of those videos were filmed side-by-side? o.o

No problem. Maybe it's in everyone's best interest if we all just respect each others thoughts and move on with looking forward to Entry #67.

I let this thread stand on its own because it was, at that time, a good example of a discussion without arguments or insults.

This is a warning to all three of you (Magyk, twistedpuppet, SaigoSentinel) to stop arguing about "filler" if you can't be civil with your points and going after each other.

With all due respect, Zarggg, you'll be hard pressed to find a post where I haven't maintained civility. The closest I've come to an insult is use of the word"PuppetLand."

Sorry, I just don't like being lumped into a group I don't think I belong in. (In this case, an uncivil or disrespectful one.)

Exactly the kind of posts that make you deserving of a warning, and not me. I don't really think Siago deserves to be lumped into the "warning" group either, he hasn't really said anything inflammatory.

Actually, I was laughing because you think you didn't deserve the warning. You should go back and read your posts. They are not as civil as you think they are. Razz But anyway. It's also kinda funny because Zarrg posted that 2 hours after we had agreed to stop arguing. :V

I know why you posted it, it doesn't change the fact that it's clearly instigatory (whether or not that is the intent.)

I did read the link and I still felt that IT DOES NOT COUNT AS FILLER BECAUSE IT ADVANCES THE PLOT. That is something filler does not do. Filler stalls the plot.

Btw, fixed the bold parts for you since you're the one who didn't bother to read the link. And just in case you still don't get what I'm saying, PLOT IMPORTANT INFORMATION WAS INTRODUCED IN THIS ENTRY AND SO WAS THE NEXT PLOT HOOK. Filler doesn't do that. Trust me. I've watched DBZ and Frickin Naruto(several hundred episodes worth), I've seen filler.

You didn't "fix" anything, you just focused on about half of the quote, because the whole of it didn't support what you were saying. What it says is that filler commonly doesn't advance the plot, but it is also common to put 1 or 2 plot advancements in an episode that is otherwise filler.

This method is very common in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, for instance.

Also, I have watched both of those shows. You're not the only one who watches TV. So do take your righteous indignation elsewhere.
============================
Did not realize this shit exploded while I was away, but I stand by that statement, & do not feel that any of it was out-of-line. I will elaborate on something, though:

I don't know whether or not I'd qualify Entry 66 as filler. On the one hand, we hadn't actually been *told* that Tim was a patient & that everything *might* be his fault. On the other hand, aren't we always saying that every little thing doesn't have to be explained? Isn't this something that should be easy enough to figure out from the medical records? Do we really need an entry to explain it? We didn't get an entry to explain the real meaning behind Alex's ghost story, which has proven far more perplexing to fans.

But, that isn't really an issue to me. The issue is how up in arms everyone seems to get over the suggestion that Marble Hornets has any filler in it at all. Like it's some kind of personal insult. What difference does it really make if people think that Entry 66, or any other entry, for that matter, is filler? Why does it mean that you have to prove that you know better than they do?

Then we have to dissect the entry, show that it does something that might be viewed as a positive progression, & suddenly it's become super important. Even if that thing it did was maybe a couple minutes out of a 10+ minute-long entry. And this is somehow viewed as a definitive case closed. We can't be unsatisfied with the plot progression, because something happened.

That's rather annoying.

In case you didn't catch it, we stopped that argument several hours ago. :V You're kinda late.

So? I was not online at the time. Doesn't mean I wouldn't eventually come back & see that someone had responded to me.

Besides, the Filler Debate is an overarching problem I have on this forum, much like the complaints, even though I don't think they are a big deal, are considered an overarching problem to the OP, such that they motivated him to make this topic.

Hence why I decided to elaborate on my distaste for it.

Thanks man, I don't think I do either. I can admit I was a bit jerk-ish earlier, but I apologized and have since ended my part in the conversation lol. Very Happy

For the record, I don't think Zarg has a problem with the "filler debate" per se, just the questionable civility of some of the comments made. If someone wants to comment on it hours-after-the-fact, I don't really think there's anything wrong with it.

Agree with Lithp on the whole who-really-gives-a-shit-if-its-filler-or-not argument. I, and a few others, have said it is. Many have said they do not agree. It all boils down to personal definition of the word filler.

My concern was that my own comment was arguably hostile, but looking it over, I decided there really wasn't a better way to say it, so I'd just let it be & see what happens.

As far as the Filler Debate goes, I don't think it's completely subjective, but getting people to agree on criteria that could actually be relevant to Marble Hornets is all but impossible, so I'd settle for agreeing to disagree.

Yes, sadly I often get here long after the arguments/explosions/whatever are over due to my schedule, but I still don't like seeing them.

It's okay to disagree. It's pretty much expected. But it's the constant back-and-forth, questionably inflammatory posting that I take issue with. If you've presented your side of an argument, but the other side does not seem willing to recognize it or take it to mind, then both sides should really move on.

We're supposed to be discussing the events of series and theories thereof, not having debates on what is or is not acceptable to us, as viewers.

Particularly not in a thread titled "In Defense of Marble Hornets."
