Why the Hell would that be the one thing they care about?

Because the ground in Centralia is so weak that putting vehicles on the dead roads is like an invitation to the fiery pits below.

So? Let the Jungle's Law sort them out.

I live in Pennsylvania, but the only one of these things near me is the bleeding tombstone, reading further, I find that, in practical terms, all that really is is a tombstone with a metal plate over it.

Kinda lame.

Eh. The police are trying to prevent Jungle Law. Not saying I don't agree with you, but their job is to enforce more trite, meaningless, contrived law.

I'm mostly being a dick, it just seems weird to me that the danger is not important enough to keep people out of the place, but fuck you they'll throw the book at you if you try to drive on the roads.

See the trick is you just gotta bring a few red shirts with ya when you go out there. Cannon fodder who can't outrun you is always your best chance for survival!

I'm sure the police would be more than happy to let a few red shirts succumb to Jungle's Law, but the suits that pay them are the bleeding heart liberal types who think it's a bad thing when stupid people die.

See I say let's put all the lesser people, red shirts, idiots old people and people with incurable contagious diseases and put them on a ship and send em off to the moon for the better of the species! Offended yet?

No, I'm not offended. I voted for Ron Paul, so I hate everyone.

Yeah. There are two types of people in this world.
And I don't like either of them.

So while we're on the topic of abandoned places, my friend apparently has a ton of abanoned buildings near him, as he took lots of pictures and put them on his tumblr. Really cool stuff there.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Which I will probably use in my series.
