From what I've heard, that Strange Aeons thingy has been getting really good.

So was this thread just created for people to hock their own series and troll others?

I liked "The Crucible" (AKA: CRUX-crucible). It was a true ARG, most of it taking place in a chat room from whenever I got my homework done to whenever someone in the chat fell asleep (sometimes 4AM), all of the atmosphere of it was in the chats with occasional phone calls from The Choir (the Fear Mythos were involved as well) and all the players became characters in their own right, directly influening the story by all working together to save Crux from Omega-possed-Dante by helping convince him to fight back instead of worrying about hurting Dante (which was all for naught in the end because it was scripted that Dante would hurt Crux.. D: ), or rescue Tiro from Gorger(?) by singing a song, and all the players and characters know each other outside of the game now that it's over and it was generally awesome. Lots of creepy/tense moments peppered with plenty of carefree acting/interacting with the other players and characters and... yea. It was pretty awesome. Worshippy XD

EverymanHYBRID, definitely. Yeah yeah, it's one of the big three, but I love it. The acting, the characters, the backstory... I like how involved the fanbase can get at times with things like the boxes and the seven trials. I also like how a bit of the story progression is done outside of the videos; it's really cool immersion-wise. It's definitely the least scary of the big three (at least for me), but it makes up for that with its disturbing factor along with everything else.

In terms of "trailheads," I watched a little bit of CaughtNotSleeping, but slowly zoned out of it for some reason. I got up to "Coffin contents." I'll probably start watching it again soon; I'm just busy as hell with my current semester.

I respectfully disagree. If you have a favorite series, it's your favorite series. Otherwise, you're getting into hipster territory.

If someone says True Blood is their favorite vampire series, is it fair to say whoever likes Stoker's is wrong because it was a (relatively) original idea?

Tough pick.

Marble Hornets is my longtime companion and the spice certainly has diminished with the crazy wait times taking me out of the plot these days.

And I just caught up with all evrymanHYBRID and love it.

Overall I'd give the nod to Marble Hornets.

EverymanHYBRID.

You can consider it unfair if you want, but I haven't really watched any of the smaller ones. I'm thinking of a few, but I haven't made any commitments yet.

So why EverymanHYBRID?

Overall, I like the complexity of the story. Admittedly, the "tale told through background reports" thing is getting a little old by this point, but EMH has a real reason to do it. It actually feels like there's an investigation going on, with leads turning up missing or dead, documents being pieced together, etc.

Then there's the scene effects. I don't watch it and get that feeling that nothing is going to happen because the authors don't want to try anything too ambitious.

I also kind of like the multiple monster approach.

TribeTwelve is the best I've seen, hands down.

That one was pretty good, well, at least from what I've seen.

pfft

Also, how is it unfair to pick your "favourite series". I thought that was the whole point.

i have to say, although it's not slenderman related, but is certainly in the vain of a slenderseries, just acquaintances. I can not praise it enough, I love this series. now, as for a series that actually does have slenderman in it, I'd have to say either dark harvest or stanfrederickbts. both are absolutely superb
