No city, but Amtrack jogged my memory.
BNSF Railway (formerly known as the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway)

FYI, proper spelling is Amtrak, no 'c', but I guess it's a common misspelling.

Oh, good thinking with the cities! I was also thinking about anagrams, but couldn't make anything of them.

Seems to be a serious travel theme going on here. Any famous train line that passes through all those places?

Thank you Amandel for your spectacular assistance! Good work, good sir/madam/unspecified other! Wink I actually wasn't thinking about cities when I saw the anagram in my e-mail. I thought it was a message (e.g., "It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!").

Right. Now to the above quote: although it appears there was a spelling error with Amtrack, I have to wonder if that was intentional. That is to say, instead of Amtrack, they meant to say AM Track, as in the A.M. Track of a certain line ( EDIT 3: I just noticed that SAFE NET does not readily turn into Santa Fe but instead turns into Sante Fe, so maybe AMTRACK is in fact a spelling mistake).

Also, below is my clue. I apologize for the delay, but I wanted to be at a computer before I told all of you:

Quote:
japans cos

Upon seeing it, I presumed it was some sort of anagram (although 'japan' threw me off) so I thought of all the things it could mean...but after a while I decided to find a good anagram solver because I wasn't coming up with anything that felt "solid". After some massive anagram solver failures, I found a decent one, and it worked! Take a look at this!

Quote:
Cajon Pass

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cajon_Pass

the Cajon Pass is used by the BNSF railway.

Apparently there was an accident on the Cajon Pass. Showing here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Bernardino_train_disaster

And maybe it isn't related, but by some strange coincidence the accident occurred in the A.M.!

Exclamation

Okay I am super duper excited here because we're talking about trains (I love trains!!! Shocked ) but that is all I wanted to say. I am going to pour over those two articles I just linked and see what I find.

*takes in a breath*

All right bye! Surprised

Edit: I found an article on the train accident. I did a quick ctrl + f looking for mentions of Martin or Clara or Anna or dalmations or dogs or fire departments. There were dogs involved in the search and the fire department (that's a given) but I haven't read the full article so I don't know if it has any juicy bits of relevance in there somewhere...either way, it seems like something to read. Maybe. I hope. Very Happy

Edit 2: This bad boy is getting kind of long, but I just wanted to say that it was weird to me that we have an anagram that turns into the word "building". Why building? Then the word "station" began to look odd to me, too (odd in the sense of redundancy). Maybe I'm just being silly. Maybe there are more clues to find -- maybe it doesn't end at the San Bernardino Train Accident? Well, we'll find out soon enough!

Yes, you might be right. I e-mailed them about Cajon Pass and the accident and asked them if it meant anything to them. Here's the quote:

How these play a role in Anna's story, and the larger story of The Keepers, remains to be seen. However, you are on the right track.

The italic word was in the e-mail.

Flagstaff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagstaff,_Arizona "The major rail corridor running through Flagstaff is the Southern Transcon, originally built by the Santa Fe Railway and now owned and operated by the BNSF Railway. Passenger rail service is provided by Amtrak at the downtown station, connecting on east-west routes to Los Angeles and Albuquerque via the Southwest Chief line." It is also near the Grand Canyon

Hmm, maybe something located in the middle/close to all the tracks and roads and cities and stuff is what we're looking for? A "fire" station building, maybe? Where a special little Dalmation is located?

I know, I'm jumping to conclusions. I'll try not to. Laughing

New update

We have really enjoyed all of the submissions we received and hope you'll check out the updated Keeper Submissions page. At this time we are no longer accepting submissions, although we will be having another submission challenge in the future, so stay tuned if you missed your chance.

The clues we sent out in exchange for submissions will appear, in some form or another, in Anna's story. It will up to The Keepers to determine what these clues mean and how they should be used.

Meanwhile, back to Anna…

And another one about FD

We should make a map and pin these places.

As of yet, all the places apart from Grand Canyon is on the BNSF railway, as far as I can tell. But 66 doesn't make any sense, and "building" is just vague.

Well, I guess I will finish my collage for my own appreciation. I am not the best artist, so I am slow Smile Great work on the anagrams!
