What are your, and anyone else's, thoughts on the distinction between group decision card choosing and individual card choosing. (for example: tome if an opportunity to present a card is given in a blog post it is a group decision vs. if it is presented to an individual in an email (such as it was for the first card because someone figured out to send in an image of their card)? While it might be nice for the individual to ask for a group consensus, I do not believe they have to go with it or even ask to begin with.)

I agree: Requests in emails are personal, and does not require team work or consensus (but as you say, one can always ask for advice if one wants to). Requests in the blog or anywhere else not directed specifically to one player are meant to be team efforts.

And a new blog post:

Quote:
1 East Route 66
The train station was quiet and almost deserted when Anna, Clara, and Martin arrived. There was a small cluster of people waiting outside for the shuttle to Sky Harbor Airport and a couple of tourists browsing in the little visitor center. Martin gave a dollar to a homeless man who sat next to a shopping cart packed with bags of empty soda cans.

They went up to the ticket counter where a somewhat elderly woman was doing a crossword puzzle. She looked up at them and smiled. "How can I help you?"

Anna gave her the memo. "Does this mean anything to you?"

The woman puzzled over it for a minute and then shook her head. "No, but Sarah may have an inkling. She's a college student who works here and it always getting caught up in strange stuff like this. I can leave her a message if you like."

They left their home phone number with the woman, whose name was Liz, and she promised to pass along the message to Sarah. Then they went back to the their house to see their mother and have supper.

Would be silly to pretend I'm not read up. So, mentioning that I've been enjoying this game immensely; enjoying its pace and posting with both older & new players.

And in reply to my asking about Anna being followed & if The Wise One was a TWO archetype Winter wrote:
We appreciate your concern for Anna and her company but please be reassured that they are being watched and protected by powerful forces.

As usual, you are very astute at catching and reading clues. The role of The Wise One will become more clear over the next few days, and the Keepers will have many opportunities to interact with The Wise One and chances to interpret The Wise One's purpose and actions and submit cards accordingly.

Am 100% happy to agree with that timeframe even tho imo 24 hours suits the game format a little better.

I am fine with either, but if I were asked to choose one I would say 24 hours fits the game better as well.

ETA: Am, can you elaborate more on what made you think of the Two archetype? I find this very interesting.

I actually kinda agree, 48 hours was probably better suited for my tempo than the games tempo. I'm ok with 24 for the sake of smooth storytelling. I might miss out on a few of them, but that's no biggie. I trust you guys to make the right decisions (or else!).

What say the rest of you? 24 or 48 hours deliberating and voting before decision?

At first it was simply the TWO acronym. However, being fairly Tarot dufos I researched that "the Twos relate to Choices and Balance". It just seemed very applicable.

Finally heading to dinner so **we return you now to your regularly scheduled** 24 or 48 hours vote/decision. Have fun all...

HP mentioned that we could present cards more than once. This was confusing to me, since we have been told that we are using a Celtic Cross spread and the Magician and the Chariot have now been placed. In a tarot reading, there is only 1 card of each in the deck. Here is the answer I received:

Quote:
Very good question and we apologize for the confusion. Although cards can be presented at any time to impact the events of the story, cards can only appear once in the Celtic Cross layout. Once the layout is competed it, too, will play a role in the story.

ETA: How long do we wait on the vote for how long to wait?

KIDDING!!! Twisted Evil

I vote 24 hours and am fine with other Cardkeepers making decisions about which card to send in.

So if i read this correctly we have:

24 hours = 4 votes

48 hours = 1 vote

SPI +1 to majority at time of decision, noted.

Yes?

Confused What the...I don't even...

I vote for 24 hours or 48 hours, whichever one obtains the largest vote, on and ONLY on card submitting procedures where the PMs have clearly demonstrated (either through blog posts, comments, e-mails, or otherwise) that said decision requires the proper application of team effort (where all members of the team have posted at least once in the last two weeks at the time of the voting being considered, with those outside of aforementioned timeframe needing to post within the 24/48 hour limitation as soon as possible to ensure that their vote is considered).

Now to round out this sense of self-importance, I would like to state that this game has been a bit too fast for me as well. But while this can be disappointing at times, I do not feel that others should stall the game merely on my presence alone. I would like for it to slow down (in my heart of hearts), but I am perfectly content reading the new developments when they come, and just that.

Less than Polite Aside: I do not really have much respect for you mrshomersimpson, not only because of the poor manner in which (I feel) you continue to convey yourself, but also from (what I perceive to be) your unwillingness to compromise or find some understanding with others. This being said, I don't wish to take your enjoyment of this game away, and am more than submissive enough to make sure everyone else gets their way. That is all.

[teh_lisa, after the 24/48-hour stall, if I have not voted yet, presume that I cast my vote for the majority's desire. Thus calculated, at present my vote is for the 24 hour voter limit, seeing that most everyone here wants to adhere to this limitation]

Catfight!

Edit:

Maybe I missed something, but per the new blog post, I am a little confused about this quote below:

Quote:
Then they went back to the their house to see their mother and have supper.

Does this mean that Anna lives in Flagstaff (apologies if that is super obvious)? Also, is the extra word (the) in this sentence meant to be part of a clue of some sort? Am I over-analyzing?

I am confused too because I thought they did not live close? But your question about the extra the reminded me of the oddity in this sentence:

Quote:
She's a college student who works here and it always getting caught up in strange stuff like this.

It should obviously be is.

I thought that a while ago and convinced myself I was crazy. Guess not. I applaud their use of restraint with information given here. Fixing typos is totally fair game, though Smile

It is? I didn't know that when I was a PM. Laughing I'm such an amateur.

We are now at:

24 hours = 5 votes
48 = 1 vote

and just to be safe, for this vote alone, we should wait 48 hours to tally. Then we can continue onward with the voted on limitation. Does that sound fair to anyone else? Wink

Ha ha ha ha...they either ate some popcorn while reading this "feud" or took sides, making mental notes on who to murder next. Evil or Very Mad
