After finding parking spots in the dark and deserted downtown area they walked briskly north toward the library with Aiden leading the way.

"He lives down here right around the library somewhere," Aiden said, his long black coat blowing in the spring wind.

"In one of those cool rock houses?" Clara asked.

"Yes."

"I know several profs who live in those. Pretty cool. They look like something out of Tolkien."

Aiden ignored her and kept walking. He was tall, and the rest of them scurried to keep up. Finally, he stopped and squinted at a small stone cottage with a white picket fence, minute patch of green lawn, a friendly porch light, and a black cat sleeping on the front stoop. As they went up the front walkway, Anna bent to pet the cat, who licked her hand and yawned. Aiden knocked sharply on the front door.

The door flung open and there stood Dr. Clay Ellershaw, wearing his dirty jeans, but without the tweed jacket and with the sleeves of his work shirt rolled up. He had a pipe clamped between his teeth.

"Aiden, what in the hell are you doing here?" Then he saw Anna, Clara, Martin, and Morgan. "And what the hell is going on?"

"We need to talk," said Aiden as he let himself in, and Clay reluctantly stepped aside the let the others in as well. A woman peaked around the corner from the kitchen and said, in a high sing-song voice, "Clay? Darling? Do we have visitors? Shall I make tea?"

He went into the kitchen and they heard low voices arguing for a moment, and then he came back out smiling. "Have a seat," he said gesturing expansively toward the small living room, which housed a tiny fire place and rather comfortable looking furniture. Everyone picked a spot and sat tentatively. Clay sat opposite Aiden and took a long draw on his pipe.

"So?"

"Winter is gathering the troops, so to speak."

"Dear God."

"I don't think there is any reason to panic, I just think she wants to be...prepared."

Clay sat back heavily in his chair and looked thoughtfully at the ceiling for a minute. "This is all my fault, isn't it? The dig?"

Aiden rested his head in his hands. "We don't know."

Clay gestured toward Anna. "What about Collins?"

"We're not sure what's going on with him. He has all but vanished. He hasn't been back to his apartment in Turkey, we've been watching it. And he definitely hasn't been back to the States."

"But is any of this because of him?"

"We don't think so. He was doing a minor errand for Winter. He was wasting a tremendous amount of energy and effort trying to keep Anna from getting involved. But you know Winter."

Clay nodded, "I do, I do."

Aiden sat up. "There are additional...complications."

"Complications?"

"Katherine Collins has set fire to her husband's office and burned down her house," Aiden glanced quickly at Anna. "She's currently unresponsive."

"In a coma?"

"No, just...not talking."

"Anything else?" Clay leaned forward. "I mean, you said more than one complication."

"The High Priestess and the Wise One both seem to have vanished."

"Jesus fucking Christ!" Clay exploded. He jumped out of his seat and began pacing.

"I know, I know."

"We'll, if we're gathering, should we go get all of the tablets?"

"I think we should leave the tablets alone for now. They are safe. It would be dangerous to have even two of them together. We need to wait until we know more. But let's go ahead and contact Jenna and get her up here. We are, the four of us, supposed to present ourselves to Winter." Aiden showed the note from the refrigerator to Clay.

Clay read the note and frowned. Suddenly, the woman appeared again in the doorway to the kitchen. She was bearing a tray laden with tea and cakes. "Here is a little snack for everyone. She walked gracefully through the living room and set it on the small coffee table. Then she stood up and said, "And when you're done, get the bloody hell out of my house."


Maybe Mrs Collins burned down the house because she was pissed at Mr. Collins?

 		In regards to the latest post, here's what I'm wondering:
Aiden is the Keeper of Fire, Jenna is the Keeper of Air, Aunt Ruthie is the High Priestess, Winter is The Fool (although she used to be the High Priestess, dunno how this swapping cards thing works, tbh), Ellershaw is the Keeper of Earth, Morgan is the Keeper of Water, Anna Collins is The Magician.

So what is Devin Collins?

She gave me insight into a ancient battle, one that has been fought for millennia, between Heaven and Earth, a battle between the spirit and the body, between the ways of the Old Gods and the new proponents of free will, science, and enlightenment.

She taught me that female power, once the ruling power of ancient times, times before history was written, had been distorted, misshapen, forced into darkness and hiding. From this came a two-sided coin: angry and destructive forces and spirits were pushed underground and into myth, and the passive and submissive girls and women were allowed into society and history.

The ways of magic and power were buried also, practices that were once common and accepted became the stuff of legend and myth and fear.

It is our job to free the angry spirits, reawaken the gods and goddesses, and bring back everyday magic. There is so much we can do to heal the world. We can take control. We can change history for the good.

In my studies I have come to discover that there are a handful of chosen ones alive today. Ones whose mission it is to rise up and become powerful and defeat the corrupt rulers and practices of contemporary society. Just as in ancient legend and scripture across all religions, these chosen ones are born to their mission, and must be carefully groomed and prepared for what they are to do.

So far I have identified only one chosen one, one who will devote her life to rekindling the fire. She will face many obstacles, and perhaps she will one day face death, but there is no greater calling. You will send your daughter to me when she turns thirteen.

In exchange for your daughter I am giving a gift of tremendous power. It is an inscribed tablet, and it is up to you figure out what it is and what it can do. However, you must be very careful about who you seek out and trust in your explorations. There are those who will help you, and those who will do everything in their power to stop you, especially when they realize who you are.

I am sending the tablet to you via a special courier. You will also be sent a Tarot card. While the tablet must be hidden where nobody can find it, the card can be carried with you and shown to whomever you like. Think if it as a kind of code. Those who present you with Tarot cards as a way of initiating conversation can be trusted. You should also know that not only are the cards a symbol and a way of communicating, they are also a key, a key to unlocking ancient secrets and powers.

Your card is quite unique. Many no longer consider it part of the Tarot deck. Its name is Jupiter.

I am leaving you now, but you will see and hear from me again. You will no longer call me by my old name. I have a new name now, one whose meaning will become clearer to you in time.

I cannot wait to see your face again, to hear your voice and feel the warmth of your touch.

Think the Hierophant is depicted as jupiter.

I believe that in some medevil decks the Jupiter card existed but was replaced in more modern times with The Hierophant but i dont think anyone holds that card?...

just working things out in my head here

so its addressed to devin, so what he holds the Hierophant card?

However, we will do what we can to provide more clarity and direction to the Keepers. We believe that many of them are ready for at least a partial revealing of the Keeper mission and purpose.

Based upon the excellent digging done you all in the above posts I sent an email to Winter asking some questions, I didn't give much in the way of wriggle room but we will see how she answers:

What good is life without freedom, only the fanatic believes control must be taken by force their way is always right everything is black or white nothing in between. Which path are you on Winter, how does your soul feel?

The Void does not have an avatar that we know of, and the possibility of its acquiring one is a very real threat.

The power of the Old Ones is not the same kind we equate with contemporary culture. They are currently powerless in the face of hatred, violence, and entrenched patriarchy. We seek to create a world in which the elements are balanced, not one in which power simply changes hands.

 		I don't think you need a key. That was probably just to explain the meaning of the triangle on Aiden's blog wx turned out to be the 4 triangles for earth, fire, air and water.

I will say only this. You have not met Juno yet. And yes, it might be important to understand Juno and Jupiter and why they were lost or forgotten or hidden.
