Considering writing academic paper on ARGs
and I have a few questions

Hello everyone! I have played a few ARGs, though nothing too serious (whatever that means). I am currently studying Performance Studies and I am considering writing a research paper on alternate reality gaming, the communities surrounding them, and how they are different (possibly better) ways of engaging an audience when telling a story than, for example, traditional video games, theatre, television or literature.
I have been trying to find secondary sources, but so far not a lot has come up. Does anybody here know of anything?
And would anyone here be interested/willing to talk to me about their experiences, either as a PM or a player?

Thanks!
Amalie

"This Is Not a Game: A Guide to Alternate Reality Gaming " Dave Szulborski

"Reality Is Broken: Why Games Make us Better and How they Can Change the World" Jane McGonigal {I have not read this book myself, and its main focus is from my understanding gaming in general, not just ARGing}

Back log of articles on ARGN.com

Also, I bet if you come to ARGFest this year {Seattle July 25-27, registrations not open yet} you can interview LOTS of people, both players and PMs.

I like the StoryForward Podcasts. They cover not just ARGs but transmedia storytelling as well.

If you want to hear from some PuppetMasters they talked with the We Are Earthborne and The Wall Will Fall PMs. Those were some great, recent grassroots ARGs & the discussion offers some insight into the process both teams went through.

And before it was called Story Forward with JC Hutchins & Steve Peters {amazing people BTW} it was the ARGNetcast hosted by Jonathan Waite {and he always had guest hosts with him such as Sean C. Stacey aka Spacebass} - there are a TON of archives you can listen to. They talk to players & creators {they themselves were both players and creators}.
