I have to say, MH is really starting to piss me off with their Lost-esque style of "Let's not answer any questions - but we'll throw like 400 new ones at you an episode!"

They better answer everything, and wrap this shit up nice and neat at the end. Mad

Other than the lack of questions answered, and the "Let's give viewers a billion questions" thing this was an entertaining entry.

Am I the only one who doesn't want every question answered?

I'm a sucker for unanswered mysteries and I find explaining everything to be a really boring way to end a series. If it leaves no unanswered questions to speculate about, it leaves me with an empty "Huh, so that's all" feeling. I honestly don't want a series like MH which is based on a deep sense of mystery and the fear born from the lack of knowledge to end on a "everything is explained, happy end!" type of note. I want to be able to be scared and my hairs to be raised by the atmosphere of fear by this series in the future as well without having the air shot out of it by a knowledge of why and how it all happened.

I don't think anyone here wants ALL the mysteries solved, but we definitely want some answers about at least a few things. I mean, the only big mystery that's been solved so far in the series was Masky's identity. All the big mysteries from S1 and S2 are still largely unsolved.

Anyway, I thought this entry was really great, hopefully this marks a turning point in S3 and we can start cracking down on some more serious plot development and all that good stuff. I'm going to make some guesses at the big questions of this entry.

When does this take place?

I'm personally going for right after entry 65. The pipe Hoodie picked up may have been the exact same pipe Tim was using to beat the wall.

Why was Alex there?

Well, since Alex called Jay and Tim in entry 64, it's likely that he was following them. After Tim drove off at the end of entry 64 Alex probably followed him to the hospital to finish him off for good.

Did Hoodie want them to find this?

This question is really hard to answer. I can't see what Hoodie gains from showing Jay this, unless s/he's just sort of trying to intimidate Jay for some reason. I'm not sure why Hoodie would want to do that though.

I guess the people who wanted to see TTA make good on their "this is your last birthday" threat got their wish. Razz

Am I the only one, for some twisted reason, found it hilarious when Hoody hit Alex with the pipe? I don't know why, it was just funny. Sad

  • Who was the one filming in the tan jacket and gloves? I'm assuming this was Hoody.
  • When did this take place? It looks like it's definitely in the past few months, given Alex's beard and Tim's outfit.
  • Is Tim pulling out his cell phone at the end of the video? Is he trying to call someone? If this is Tim calling Jay, this might help us place when it happened.

1 - It was definitely Hoody.
2- Likely right after the moment in Entry #65 when Tim passed out after beating on the HiaL wall.
3 - I'm not sure. If he was calling Jay, then it really wouldn't fit with 65 too well, because the message that Jay got was at, like, 3AM, and yet the footage of Tim calling showed daylight. Maybe he's calling someone else?

2 - I agree. This fits in perfectly after #Entry #65. Tim has the chestcam on and he gave it back to Jay.

3 - Calling his boss? One of the first things Tim worries about is his job.

Anyone else notice how Alex has changed his attitude towards Jay? In Entry #52 he was all "Ima shoot you" and now he's "Leave now, bitch. I want to talk to Tim alone with my gun." He's almost protecting Jay. I don't get it.

Edit: When I saw Alex in this entry part of me was expecting it to be the last entry.

What I find interesting is that the tape has audio at some parts, but at other times, it's gone- most notably, when Alex is bound and appears to be yelling. Maybe Hoody removed the audio because of something Alex yelled?

On another note, at 3:08 there's a sound of a gun cocking.

Anyone here good at lip-reading?

I thought that was Alex stepping on glass.

Could be. I just thought it sounded like it upon re-watching.

Alex is usually such a serious, condescending, in control, sarcastic ass that it is sort of funny to see him mess up so badly and totally get the tables turned on him. Razz

For the people wondering about the quiet parts, I feel like the "silent distortion" was placed strategically to let the Hoodie actor make as much noise as they needed in order to keep up with Joseph.

Not sure, but when Tim is beating the crap out of Alex, he has the chest camera holder. The thing is I'm not sure if Hoody's cam was actually Tim's camera, because I don't remember any footage in previous entry from Tim beating Alex in first person view.

I think you're right about all of this. Didn't the chest cam stop recording after Tim was in the Hospital for an hour or so? It's perfectly reasonable that this could have happened.
I also liked your point about Alex following him there. He was definitely looking for Tim, because he followed the sound of the coughing. He also told JAY to leave the tunnel in 64, not Tim.
I wonder what's going to happen with that "This is your last birthday" threat. They don't have much time to kill Alex off (unless it happened in this entry, which I highly doubt).

The chest cam puts a circular angle on the shot, which doesn't seem to be the case here. My guess is that the chest cam had stopped recording at that point and this happened after Tim's footage ends in Entry 65.

Let's play a game;
it's called "Is my internet laggy, or was this tape in the dirt for weeks?"

Maybe he was hesitating.
Human after all
Sadly with the audio missing we may never know
unless Tims chest cam was recording Laughing

A really good entry. Some very good editing this time around. It would have been pretty boring imo if it weren't for some very unique and unsettling video distortion and silence. I thought the shots of the torn-apart hospital walls looked genuinely scary, even for a bright day in the middle of the country.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Good audio work with the impact of the pipe on Alex's head. Personally, I would have preferred the "CLANK" from the MH season 2 DVD, but beggar's can't be choosers.

Alex is now back in the action, so we may be seeing him soon. the Operator made a classy yet brief appearance which I like over season 1's entries when it's walking around like a human.

Another random thing I'd like to add:
Does it bother anybody else that Jay hasn't been putting the text at the end of videos? This was actually the first video in a while where he put text BEFORE the video. The entries feel off without it.
