 		I don't know if this has been mentioned before or not, I apologize if it was, but apparently there is going to be a theatrical film called, "Entity". It's going to be another one of those "Demand It" movies.

I really don't feel onboard with it. It just seems really off and 'bleh' to me. I'm hoping the Marble Hornets film looks better than this. I hope it has more of a mysterious vibe. Mindfuckery wouldn't hurt either.

I don't know about that one. It looked kinda meh from the trailer, but I seem to recall seeing them doing a Q & A on Twitter once and they seemed like they understood what makes Slender Man scary. Doesn't mean they'll understand how to execute it properly, but at least on paper they seemed to know how to keep true to the feel of MH/the original SA posts.

Not sure Jay can be trusted to do any such thing, seeing as he's a fictional character oblivious to the existence of a movie about him. And as for Troy, yeah, we can hopefully trust him, but we don't know how much control he ultimately has over the movie, and even so I've seen a couple of movies which show that, in some cases (hopefully not this one), the original creator can be trusted the least to accurately adapt their own source material.

Oh dear. It looks like Paranormal Activity but replace Toby with Slenderman.

I reckon that will be rubbish. But I won't judge it off a trailer, I'll wait for a review. It may be really good

Slendy... is gonna have a theatrical film... called "Entity"...

Well now the idea of a Marble Hornets film is just pointless.

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw the trailer. Marble Hornets needs to make a movie to show em how to do it right.

But they already have Para-Slender Activity on YouTube, it's literally called The Slender Man Movie.

 		After a whole day, I figured out what I didn't like about "Entity" or, at least, its trailer. It's not very subtle. I think it showcased Slenderman a little too much. Hell, it even showed a close-up of him walking at one point. (I chuckled a bit at that part. Like Slendy is taking a casual stroll to work or something.)

To me, the Slenderman Mythos, as a whole, is scary because of how subtle it usually is with its scares. The mysteries in the Mythos are the icing on the cake. I believe it greatly takes advantage of the Fear of the Unknown. It's worthy enough to be a successor of the Cthulhu Mythos. (Which kinda makes me want a collection of the Slenderman posts from the SomethingAwful forums and a few other places compiled in a book. I seriously want a Kickstarter on that idea. If legal issues with crediting and all that stuff is worked out that is.)

Anyway, if they wanted to make an interesting trailer, they could pull a Pixar and create a stand-alone short with a few small connections to the movie to avoid Trailer Joke Decay (or Trailer Scare Decay in this case). Just have normal footage with Slendy in the background like he is known for. Maybe even throw in a screen tear. Just subtle enough to spark interest in newcomers and nostalgia in fans.

I apologize for the long-winded post. I'm semi-new here and just wanted to sing praises for the Mythos and whatnot. Can't wait for the Marble Hornets film! I'm sure that they'll nail it! Very Happy

Yeah... there's a part of me that hopes that the film's actually good and that the trailer was just designed that way to lure in the masses, though. As I said before, their twitter (https://twitter.com/entitymovie) implies that they have at least some degree of understanding of how Slender Man should be done (see their Tweets from January or so), but it remains to be seen whether they'd be able to execute it properly.

On a side note, if Entity turned out to be good (or at least financially successful,) that could be a good thing for the Mythos reaching the mainstream, but it could also be bad for the MH movie, because we'd then be stuck with people convinced that MH is just some Entity ripoff and they may not see the film as a result. So I'm not completely sure whether I'd even want Entity to succeed, in that regard.

Oh, and I agree that the original SA stories should be compiled into a book. If there would be legal issues getting all the stories from the various SA posters who created them, then maybe at least a compilation of Victor Surge's own creations and maybe a few new ones from him as well.
