I'm tired of people getting mad about this. It's literally the exact same character with a different name.

Yeah, really. Besides, in terms of publicity and marketing people are far more likely to see something featuring "The Slender Man" rather than "The Operator," which could be almost anything. It's a publicity move-- a good one at that, I'm sure they'll refer to him/it as "Operator" a few times in the movie, don't worry, it'll be okay.

Also note, that in many series IG, they don't even refer it to him by name anyway. It's always It. Him. The thing. Or whatever. I think its safe to call him what you want really. But for series specific stuff. people tend to lean towards its given IG name. The only two series I know where they specifically named him, is Marble Hornets (The Operator) and Dark Harvest (The Overseer, or his Egyptian name: Gorr'Rylaehotep).

I prefer it if they never call it by anything (other than it or thing ect ect) for the movie. Maybe a slight reference to The Operator, but only hardcore fans would notice.

Also if you go around calling a character "The Operator" in terms of a horror movie, people WILL think it's some sort of demented surgeon, and then when they see it's Slenderman the name won't make sense to them and they'll get confused.

You have to remember it won't just be Marble Hornets fans seeing this.

Speaking of the movie, has there been an update on anything happening with it? Last I heard Trosephim flew to CA for something with it but that was months ago.

A female character by the name of "Nikki" was added to the IMDB page, played by Blair Bomar.

As stated earlier, tread carefully with IMDB entries, but that's pretty much the only other news to be had. Unless, of course, more info was pushed out in the trades and I'm too lazy to google them.

Though wait a minute, isn't the name Slender Man copyrighted or something like that? If so how can the movie call him Slender Man?

What started this conversation anyway? I don't remember even seeing any reference to TO as Slender Man.

He could have tentacles, but we never see them because he only bares them when agitated or extremely aggressive, which also sets off his SlendyEMP effect thus wiping memories and footage.

Has anyone put serious thought into how Tim was being dragged in #65? One of my favorite moments of the whole series, Tim's screams of terror were so legit. So was he being pulled toward TO, as people suspect Jay was in 52 and even possibly Jessica in 76? Or was TO literally dragging him along? This would at least be evidence that TO can physically interact with objects/people other than himself. Was he holding Tim's leg with his hand? Or what? And where might he have been taking him...

I myself prefer the idea that TO doesn't -have- to make physical contact with his victims (which isn't to say he can't), but attacks them telekinetically instead.

This seems more in like with TO than he physically touching someone. I think he having to touch someone with his hands or whatever humanizes him too much.

I like the idea that TO/slendy cant move/is limited while being watched/the camera is on him. not sure why i like the idea or how it would make any sense at all, but it makes sense when thinking about how the characters are dragged off and whatnot. yeah... yeah.
