About the Russian poster, I feel it would have looked better had Slendy had skinnier fingers.

I mean the "only viewable through the camera thing" A) doesn't actually contradict Marble Hornets like at all, and B) I feel like they don't really say that in the movie? Like there are instances of it being true, and the characters notice, but I didn't take away "Oh yeah that's how it works forever" from that context. And stuff like that also happens in Marble Hornets, people talked about that idea before this film came out.

It wasn't really as good as regular Marble Hornets, which should be disappointing since its big budget, but I didn't really expect it to be. I thought it was very good for what it was. Seeing the same tropes executed with a bigger budget was pretty nice. Also, why are people complaining about a lack of character development? They were all kinds assholes (except Sarah) but I still basically related to Milo like in spite of that. (Also it's literally like, 80% character development the whole movie.)

Also, it literarily follows all the rules, which makes that complaint even weirder. A house gets burned down, the dog knows what's up and then dies, they all kill each other. That's probably my favorite part is it lends some context to Marble Hornets; this totally separate group of people end up doing very similar things, which makes it more clear that these are replicated symptoms in some pattern. I genuinely feel like I understand the series a little better now.

But yeah I mean it wasn't perfect. The pacing was off, I'll admit the characters could have been more relatable if they were explored better, and the plot ends up a little generic. But, for a big budget Slender Man movie thing, I think it was good. If I had to rate it out of 10, I'd give it like a 7.

I feel this would have worked significantly better as an ARG than a film. The acting was pretty good, but the characters were uninteresting and the pacing was indeed flimsy. Also, the budget of the film is irrelevant. The reason MH was so damn good was because it didn't rely on a budget. That's what made it more immersive and believable. The characters were everyday people, and they never had to bother with getting clear good shots in the camera. And having on the web rather than as a film made it more plausible.

Speaking of which, I fail to see the connection with Marble Hornets. A few tidbits that share similarities, but I don't really get how it's "A Marble Hornets Story".

Another thing that bugs me is that the "Slender" concept is pretty much gone from the mythos lately. It seems now that he's simply a faceless guy in a suit. Part of what makes Slendy creepy is his slender shape (hence the name). Combined with his disproportionally long arms, this makes him come off as inhuman thus adding to the creepy factor. In this film (and some other examples) he just comes off as a serial killer who causes camera glitches.

Because of this... it just isn't scary at all. It has a few decent subtle spooks, but part of what made MH so frightening was it's constant suspenseful atmosphere. Rather than relying on cliches, jumpscares and violence, it focused on flat out immersive fear. Always Watching felt more like an installment of a ghost hunters reality show. So I can safely say that anyone coming to this from Marble Hornets (which, given the title, should be a vast majority) will be disappointed mostly due to it having almost nothing in common with the ARG.

Also, kind of off-topic but don't y'all think it's a little strange that someone who was afraid of Slendy and trying to hide from him would be making drawings of him in their hideout? A little masochistic.

I'd screen cap it, but iTunes somehow blocks me from doing that...

What part of the movie is the poster in?

Also, it's not "weird" that someone haunted by Slender Man would draw pictures of him because that's an insane compulsion it makes you have which is literally like a central plot point in the film. Or, I guess that's the Operator symbol? But like, it's obviously the same thing.

Also, it's a "Marble Hornets Story" because it's in the same universe as the webseries and it obviously has the same monster, not because of some metafictional student film, I mean that's just nitpicking. Also, since when has the Operator (I.E. not Slender Man) ever been slender? Like, literally name a single entry. Look at Entry #14 for instance.

Well, in a couple of entries he's seemed a bit slender--though, yeah, in others he is kinda stocky but with wicked long arms and legs.

Isn't is more about him being thin like from back to front? Cause it's true like shoulder wise he's pretty broad, but you don't usually see him from the side.

The Alex poster is in the background during a gas station scene. It's brief but impossible to miss.

As for the drawing slendy thing, that was mainly meant as a joke. Like" eeek! a person is stalking me! I must surround myself with images of them!"

In one of the later entries (when Tim actually manages to stand up to TO) his slender shape is very evident

I should also point out that showing one of the last scenes at the beginning of the film was a ridiculously stupid idea.

Ya see I just don't agree with that. I think ending it with
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
them all dead
worked. I think it was true to the source material and I think any other ending would have probably been dissapointing. But it was also a pretty generic ending, and knowing it was going to happen I think was necessary to offset that aspect of it.

It's not the outcome I was disappointed with, it's the way it was conveyed in the film.
