This is a great idea. Maybe instead of starting a new thread, just falcon bump the original thread. May bring some of the old unsolved tta puzzles back to light.
Yes, I thought about that, but how would people know which page the book club started on? And wouldn't it be nice to have all the entries in one thread, as a sort of collection. Like some serious problem solving and hypothesizing, without the bitching about the wait or the quality. We could even just use THIS thread, just change the name

I thought this was going to be a group of people who review material they think might have inspired Marble Hornets and the Slender Man mythos in general. Material like...
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
Grimm's Fairy Tales
Naked Lunch by William Burroughs
And stuff like the assorted works of Edgar Allen Poe...
I was just thinking the other day that doing something like that on goodreads would be fun. I really want to read House of Leaves and I'd love to discuss it with Slender series fans while I do.

This seems a little irrelevant to me. Old topics could be bumped if you want to discuss them, plus there's the marble operator podcast that has gone through every entry already. It's not like you guys are going to dig up new information
(and anyone who digs up anything worthwhile gets $5 paypal from me, i'm that confident we've already pinched every little detail in every single entry)

It is like a synch tube in slow-mo. You are right though, it could all go in the original threads. But that would be A LOT of necromancing

I think necroposting negates the entire purpose, honestly. It's supposed to be new discussion between veterans and newbies, starting from the beginning. And how would listening to a podcast help that?
I agree that one thread should be enough, unless we get someone pushing for multiple here soon.

@Pravado: I can see why it wouldn't be something which appealed to everyone here, particularly those who have been in from the start. But for those of us who came late and missed discussing things as they happened, it'd be pretty cool. And using original entry threads would be fine, although the discussion would be of a block of entries rather than just 1...which could lead to a lot of old threads popping up, as Censura has said. My reasoning was having it all confined to one thread would mean fewer old threads potentially clogging up the first page. And, if you're right and it isn't a great idea, the thread will be subject to natural selection and will wither and crawl off to page 8 to die.
I'd be keen to look at everything anew with the knowledge we now have, without having to wade through theories which have been thoroughly Jossed/discredited (Alex R Kralie, anyone? )

I would really like to be in a MH Book Club!!
But I don't know if it will be possible to me due to the different time-zone and the difficulties I could have with the language
(Despite of all, it would be awesome if I could join, because English is a very important subject in the degree I am studying at university and I think I would improve a lot reading more in English and exposing my opinions to others about the same subject ^^).

I would totally be for the actual book club too, if someone wants to go ahead and start that xD

Count me in. Life is busy and I ALWAYS end up missing the beginning of synctubes. I came in at the end of Season 2 (ugh!) and I missed out on much of the early discussion. It seems to me that new tidbits of info, perspectives, or clues are unearthed during the synctube sessions, so what would be the harm in doing it slow-mo? I think that devoting a single thread to the "Book Club" would be the simplest way to go about things. It's all good!

But can we not NAME it a book club, because it seems some people would like an actual book club and that could be confusing

Which brings us to the fun topic of what we should name it...
