The name of the image in the page source is "sthlm.jpg", so I assume the overhead view is of Stockholm.
If the 17:00 is local time, that would be 11 AM EST (or 9 AM MST, for me).

Stockholm it is... LL is correct:

not the exact same image, but if you follow the two parallel bridges in the middle of the image, it's the part just above them.
Too bad i'm a continent away...

So I'm thinking on March 31 2004 at 5PM something will happen at the location, which I THINK is Sergelstorg - a big square (well kinda round) plaza in the middle of the business district. (Business and retail mostly, I worked in a store there one summer) In fact the label seems to be on top of Kulturhuset, suggesting an event there? I'll throw this to our resident Swedes . . .
edit: And note the name of the guest who posted - the Swedish Nightingale was actually a famous singer of the last century, Jenny Lind, who performed extensively in the US. Maybe Kulturhuset is having a Jenny Lind fest? Hmmm. Nothing on their calendar except a dance performance. Grasping at straws as usual.

chat Nightingale dropped in for a bit at #unfiction this evening, however, I don't have a log of the conversation to post. I don't recall any dramatic hints or developments. The spider is hunting and we are already caught it seems. Also, several postmodern philosophers were mentioned. If anyone happened to log it, and it seems that it might contain helpful information, could you please post it here for everyone? Thanks.

There is a place called k1 at Kulturhuset which seems to be where the picture was taken.
http://www.kkh.se/k1/karta_eng.htm
There is an event starting tomorrow or the day after do guessing this is connected to it

The Kulturhuset (which is literally translated to "Culture House") is a very artsy place... K1, which seems to be named after the floorlevel in the Kulturhuset it's situated on, does a lot of discussion on various subjects, and in the past two months, a few subjects were roleplaying related: http://www.kkh.se/k1/bilder_eng.htm
Quote:
The idea with K1 is to establish a place where theory and practice can meet and constitute the ground for a discussion.
K1 also has a link to http://www.geist.se on it's link pages. Could this have something to do with the former uF resident Zeitgeist, now known as Simulacra, and his Polygon system ?

And K1 has a project that sounds like some others that have been trailed acorss our path before, which starts on March 31:

click on "A Guide to the Tourist Gaze"
edit: wonder why the K1 project is not in the main Kulturhuset website somewhere.
And note the k1 site is hosted by the Royal College of Art... It's those art project kids again!

those crazy art project kids I'm sure you're right about all this. My only remaining question:
What is the white spider?
I searched for white spider in French (all those philosphers) and Swedish
(which I do not speak, so glad for the google translate feature) and got nothing helpful.
Ideas?

<Nightingale> They are into that business too - so why not play their game?

<Nightingale> I'll come to your homeland
<Nightingale> And try to find out what the Cage is
<Nightingale> Thats my path. You will have to find yours.
<Nightingale> Time to leave now
<Nightingale> One last thing:
<Nightingale> They are using K1 to catch some flies
<Nightingale> Bye my friends
