So how about them apples? Someone's met a bad end. It would be a bummer to find out they've axed Alex or something, but that was my first impulse. What do you guys figure?

And can ANYONE figure out what the distorted voice is saying as he enters the tunnel and looks around? It sounds a LOT like the parroted-back voice from the basement, which further supports the idea that the Operator parrots back human voices with pitch, volume and speed shifts.
