Because it's pretty damn important? A lot of stuff hinges on his ownership of a tripod. Hell, a tripod could be the key to understanding the whole series.

Oh, wow. They actually answered what is by far the most important question back in S2. Whoops. In that case, I think I'd be content if they ended the series right now without any further answers, because we know Jay has a tripod, and that's what really matters.

...Or is it? Can we prove that he still has it? What if he left it in the hotel?

Screw Alex. Jay's new quest must be to find a new tripod. Once he succeeds in doing so, the series will be over at last.

Why doesn't TO just kill Jay and get it over with? He's a mysterious god like being who has killed in the past. Why go through all the trouble of having Alex hunt Jay down and shoot him if TO can just teleport into his room while he's asleep and kill him?
