Where does this "5 more games" claim come from? I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Turns out it is a lie. A sequel hasn't been planned, but not ruled out either. Sorry, I should've checked my sources.

Kinda glad, actually. I'm not opposed to having a couple more games, maybe expand the gameplay & story, but having 5 more planned after barely introducing the first seemed kind of...well, "horror franchise," & so oddly appropriate.

For me my reason for thinking that

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
CR and Charles. M are the same

Is because the latter has one letter and a poster to his name and that's it. Considering about how Tim being Masky had more work comparatively even when factoring in the differences in length it just comes too far out of nowhere for my taste. Why not just have proxy come out of nowhere if you're giving a single letter to explain the latter's entire existance?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
For the forest fire, it couldn't have been sparked from CR's self-immolation. If it was you wouldn't be able to enter the tower from the heat and smoke, not to mention that CR set himself on fire in a small enclosed space with nothing flamable nearby, with several doors in the way including one that was locked. Unless they're taking an acceptable break from reality with the effects of fire the fact that you can breathe in the same room as CR's corpse would mean the fire has been out for a few hours by the time you arrive.

Also as a random note Corpsy isn't afraid of light, since you cna shine your flashligh in his/her face for as long as you like without them flinching. It's when the light is focused in their eyes that it stuns them, since it's right in their eyes. So they could have followed you out of the third stage into the daylight once they figured out how to send the lift back down.

Speaking of which, CR and Kate had to have gone through the mines to get to the tower (unless they took a different path Slendy knocked us off of), so who sent the elevator back down after they used it?

I really don't think it's a red herring. While marble hornets has had a lot of red herrings, not many were intentionally put in by the crew. However you have to remember this is a video game, not a video series. Unlike marble hornets, everything was put in the game intentionally. Maybe the wanted poster and the note from Charles were put in to throw players off. I just highly doubt it, since they were both 2 of the easiest to miss collectibles.

Either way, I messaged Troy on facebook asking to see if we can get the argument put to rest. Though he has been understandably a lot slower about responding to messages lately. I'm not friends with Tim or Joseph so someone should ask them as well.

Alright, I've decided that I don't give a shit about spoilers, because I've pretty much got 80% of this spoiled for me already, & let's be honest, I'm not beating this game any time soon. Certainly not until I can figure out how to get the proxy to leave me alone for about 5 minutes.

With that thought process, I went back to re-read the spoilered parts of the thread. I don't really have enough scrapbook items to say much on the whole Charles/Kate debate, so I'll just say something completely unrelated:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the prologue, you find an invitation to a funeral for a "Beth Hayes." I believe this is Kate's mother. This is because there is also a picture, in the living room, of Beth & a woman who looks like a younger version of her.

Lauren looks very little like this woman that I presume is Kate, so I am of the assumption that she is a friend, rather than a sister or other relative.

Also, non plot-related: If you click certain spots on the piano, it will play a tune that Lauren says she recognizes.

Hey, Lithp,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I didn't find this out until after I beat the game, but the proxy is scared of your flashlight. But only if you focus it on him/her by clicking the right mouse button. Every time you land a successful "hit" on the proxy by doing this, you get a good sized sprint you can use to run away. Alternatively, for me, flipping off my light and running away helped. Proxy seemed to lose me without the light.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Interesting. I knew the flashlight stunned it, but I wasn't sure what to do after that. I didn't want to run away, because I assumed it would just catch me. It didn't help that it & Slenderman tended to corner me in ways that it was difficult to run away.

another mine level tip:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
(All directions given are in relation to how you stand when you first walk into the room) melty doesn't spawn until 3 minutes have passed. Go in the path way to your back left and see if there are any generators in the cage there. If there are, remember and save them for last. Keep going down that hall until you walk into the big room with all the boxes, and a set of stairs going up. There are usually 2 generators in here as well. Again, don't grab them yet. See if there are any upstairs, by now 3 minutes should have passed. You'll want to then be in the front middle of the facility, work your way around the bottom floor, up the stairs that are in the hall to the right of your starting area, go across the walkway, work your way down to the room with all the boxes you were in earlier. You can jump off the top floor if melty has you cornered. Then swing around to the hall you started in to grab the last generator if it was there.

The reasoning for this path is because both the storage room, and the back hall, have the most escape routes and are incredibly close to the elevator. So if the last generators you grab are here when slendy/melty get more aggressive you don't have as far to run, and if they cut off your path you have a different direction you can usually go.

Also when you activate the elevator, keep looking at the console. Slendy WILL be in the room, he won't attack you but if you stare at him (like I did the first time) he can kill you.

Don't I just waste time looking for the generators without activating them? Also, can I glance at Slenderman without losing, or should I just not even risk it?

Lithp,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Depends on how aggressive Slendy is at the moment. The less you look at him the better. And I think what KTSteve is saying is that the more generators you hit the more aggressive your pursuers get. So, if you see generators in easy to grab spots, grab them last so you have more run away options when Slendy and Proxy are at their worst. I would suggest checking all the dead end rooms (rooms with only one entrance/exit) first and grabbing any generators in them first. And the most important rule: Keep moving. Do not stop moving, even if you are just walking, because your pursuers will find you and quickly. Also be aware the Proxy can follow you up on the lift if s/he is close enough when you activate it so be ready to stun him/her with the flashlight.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I can see his reasoning, but it seems to me that it would be harder if I had to grab all of the generators only after Corpsey finally shows up. Also, up until now, I'd been walking unless I had to run away from Corpsey. Should I be running more?

Why are we putting this in spoiler tags?
