Alright, well...I just played through the secret levels, and if it wasn't clear enough before, it should be now.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Charles/Charlie Matheson is the proxy.

Also, the secret levels were more mindfuck-y than anything else in the game, but they weren't quite as unnerving as the final building after the forest fire where you find CR's burnt body with Charles' footsteps slowly approaching from behind you. My friend and I played through the last level of the game several times in one night trying to find the last collectible, and we had to stop after three or four run-throughs because we were just way too freaked out by those goddamned footsteps.

I'm not sure how you reached that conclusion.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Considering that it's slender man chasing you around a weird location that can't actually exist. I doubt it's actually supposed to be canon. I highly doubt that it was supposed to be considered story-related

Not if, as some people think, the note was from his dad.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I doubt these are "canon," but these levels were definitely put here to clue us in as to the identity of the proxy, which some of us still need, seeing as there's still a few people suggesting that the proxy is Kate, which is false, given the game's timeline.

Slendy only appears outside after Charles, his proxy, finds and delivers you. You can hear the snarls of the proxy around the house when you're playing hide-and-seek, the SAME snarls that the proxy makes in the mine and at the end of the game, and it's pretty clear that all of the messages that flashed on the screen were from Charles, given that you initiate this by LOOKING AT HIS MISSING POSTER.

Charles' face also flashes on the screen when Slendy gets you, further proving that HE, Charles, was the one who found you and delivered you to Slendy. "I found you."

I believe we were right. Charles is the proxy.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That's reaching, since you're assuming that it's the proxy chasing you despite enver being seen and it's all Slendy action. If it was the Proxy chasing you, wouldn't it make more sense to simply throw the proxy in there?

The secret level proves nothing.

Also, the timeline doesn't prove anything since you have no evidence that your interpretation of how far ahead Kate and CR were is correct. There is no evidence that it's not Kate, there is just your conjecture.

So the secret level is a fun little deviation, but it's not canon and can't be taken as proof of anything.

The point is, if we assume that all of the things that you find at the mine are connected--the note, the proxy, & the closed down mine itself--then the proxy must be an adult.

Therefore, it is either Charles grown up or Charles's father, if we hold all of these assumptions to be true.

You have to admit, if this interpretation is correct, it's odd that the proxy is smaller than CR.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Slenderman is the one speaking in the level.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I suppose it could be slender man speaking. They do use the same font when he says "Not even a bug in this game can save you" but that means you are playing sort of as CM. More like Lauren is experiencing somewhat what CM experienced. Which means Slenderman called to him, spoke to him, lured him out for a game of hide and seek, then Slender man found him. And that was it. Still shows that CM was involved with slender man. And if two notes and an entire level don't make CM an important character, I don't know what does.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You are overlooking the obvious. You play with Slenderman. The game says, "I want to play a game." Slenderman finds you. It says, "I found you." That is how I concluded it was Slenderman speaking, not because of the font.

So what is the obvious interpretation of the level? It's an Easter Egg. It has no "meaning," & is not a "clue" to anything. I don't know why this concept is so hard for some people to swallow. Doesn't it tell you anything that at least 2 versions of what this level is supposed to say have been conjured up, neither of which have any hard evidence supporting their narrative? You could also say it proves that Charles is Slenderman himself, because his picture shows up instead of Slenderman when you lose.

Well, turns out it is indeed Kate. I can't argue with it.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In the Flashback stage, Kate is wearing an orange tank-top and blue jeans.
Look at this image:

Look at the jeans, then at the color of the top under the hoodie.

1. You can't clearly see the color of her top
2. You can't see her pants AT ALL.

3. The color of a shirt is no stronger evidence than the color of the hair.

I didn't see her shirt at all.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Giggity.

Well corpsy is wearing a red/orange shirt under the hoody, but that proves nothing. It's not a tank-top because it covers the chest entirely, and blue jeans isn't some unique style choice.

I don't know, I'm getting feminie features off of that reather featureless face of theirs.

Still, kudos for getting a good shot of corpsy.

Alright, let me break down the secondary sex characteristics here:

-Female-
Height is similar, or even shorter than Lauren's.
Feet are relatively short.

-Male-
Shoulders are broad.
Box-shaped torso.
Despite being short, the feet are very wide.
Flat chest

The hands are really inconclusive, as is the face, because of the mask.

This is why the proxy's features don't really prove anything. Some of them look like a woman's, some like a man's, & some a child's.

For some things, like the chest, you can say that he or she had some relatively subdued features which the hoody covers, but the point is what we can or can't make out immediately.

Completely unrelated: Has anyone tried to turn off the radio in the flashback? Part of me is wondering what would happen, but the other part of me says it would be really tedious to try, & I can't remember where it is anyway.

Discover the hidden level, immediately think "hah, I wonder if they added that in there through the patching system after our repeated requests on who corpsy was or it was their from the beginning? Ah well, at least the argument will be settled on unfiction"

no. Of course not.

So you can hear corpsy's guttural growls while roaming the house the second time (when he's looking for you)

Whoever messed with the game was obviously Charles, which doesn't 100% mean he's the proxy, but proxy's tend to know how to smash fourth walls and do stuff like that.

This was obviously meant to be the "totheark video" of the game. An extra little tidbit mindfuck that isn't needed for the story, but adds that one last clue you need to round off the story.

I don't think we'll ever be able to agree because "corpsy has such a feminine look, I mean look at her hair and how short she is. Because guys can't have long hair or be short" So i'm just going to say, corpsy is charles, kate is mia, Lauren fell off a tower, and CR is roasted. but believe what you want.
