[OOG] Marble Hornets Locations

Look what I stumbled by.

It is that place from Entry #13. It apparently used to be an old pool called riverside and it is next to the Tuscaloosa Public Library in the United Colonies of Yankland. This American fellow posted in the comments field of a YouTube vid that he lived near the location. Looks like someone is going to be moving.

Has anyone else tracked down MH locations? Or, do you live near one?

Alabama, apparently. I just googled Tuscaloosa and it comes up as Alabama.

As someone who lives 15 minutes from Tuscaloosa, confirming this.

You should totally go there and take pics of the Riverside site. See if the Operator Symbols are still there.

I never saw it, but there was apparently a YouTube video at some point of some guy going to the tower IRL, digging up the hole that gave interference in the tower entry, and so on.

I do know the tower is in some national park or something.

That?
Nothing interesting happens in it. They just start walking up to it saying how they might find a tape. One of them climbs up then they take more shots of the view surrounding The Tower, including the path behind it that Jay took in one of the later entries.

Yay, neat!

Though... don't go exploring expecting to find junk. Now that MH is over/on hiatus it's probably fine to wander around, but I doubt that there will be much there to suggest that they've been there.

And yeah, that sounds about right. Chatting with one of the actors, there'd been mention that the pool was across from a library!

Any thoughts on J's current location? ie, the motel and the park?
I'm asking, because I wonder if in true ARG-style there might be some fake article flying around the tinternets of people getting scared away from a motel because 2 kids keep getting raped by a giant dude in a suit... loudly...

I did a bit of googlemapping, trying to find a rosswood park, ross-wood road or anything similar (mentioned in E#31). The nearest thing I could find to Alabama was a Rosswood Road, and West Rosswood Road in Arkansas, a district called Pine Bluff... However, I couldn't and parks near enough to here to be called Rosswood themselves, neither could I find any parks that were obviously split in two.

I don't want to think that the MH crew are just making up place-names, I think the very fact that them mentioned these places means they want us to be looking... I dunno, thoughts anyone?

In #27, there's a clear shot of a freeway sign as he's driving around. In the #27 thread, they figured out he's about ten minutes away from where the first 26 entries were filmed.

Hahahahaa! Thats awesome.
Though I wonder where they map themselves out to be in the in-game world?

Honestly, the logistics of the whole situation seem extremely jarring to me, and would fit better in a less realistic series. They've been alone in a vast hotel for two months during the peak holiday season, relying on god knows what resources to pay for their rooms, and Jay's only so far from his hometown... something really odd's up with this situation, all I can say.

thats because the real locations are META INFORMATION. You are suppose to NOT know where these places are and are suppose to assume jay right now is no where near where he was. Everything having to do with tracking down real locations for the game is META, in other words, BREAKING IMMERSION.
