 		Revising my theory-totheark using the royal "we"(*SPOILERS*)
totheark, Hoody, Masky, The Operator, Alex.
Hi all.

First off I'm new, so if other people have expressed similar views and I am redundant too much in my line of thinking, I apologize. I did a couple searches, but I haven't found anything that matches up exactly to my theory at the moment since I found Marble Hornets two days ago.

I literally just watched up to episode 62 since yesterday afternoon, so I'm coming late to the party. I'm a huge horror fan, and watching this series mostly as a whole up to this point (as well as going through the totheark videos in order up to this point) has made me really think about a few things in context of watching it all together at once.

I'm not numbering videos, but I might make a map later with the right video numbers...if I will up the energy to rewatch it all one more time...but I love puzzles. So I'm listing things as I remember them. I put everything in a spoiler for those who haven't watched anything yet, and I'm eager to hear opinions on my theory...hope everyone has a great day!

The one thing I will say is my theory hinges on Hoody being totheark by process of elimination.

The rundown:

There's an episode where Masky and Hoody fight with Alex, who chases them...it's the only time where they seem to be working together, since Hoody seems to have a manipulative streak when it comes to Masky.

But...Masky doesn't kill Alex, he just hurts him.

There's a sense of betrayal here, if you really watch the videos from totheark...and it leaves me to believe that Hoody is totheark. Hoody Blames Alex for everything that's happened, why all this supernatural is unleashed and terrorizing everyone, and for something in particular that's been done to him/her as a result. Essentially, Hoody believes that Alex, knowingly or not, summoned The Operator and/or gave The Operator power in the real world. Going on that much...Hoody hates him for this.

Also, if I'm right in my assumption that totheark is Hoody, he directly taunts Masky, with the totheark video that features Masky limping. Talking about hatred and such, and how it doesn't matter how much he hates Alex.

This suggests that even though Hoody dislikes Alex, he/she finds hatred to be irrelevant in a bigger picture context.

So...if Alex is fault for an act of betrayal...or several...and if Masky hates him for breaking his leg and their several physical conflicts...this is where the lines start taking shape, showing what the real motives for totheark/hoody have been from the start.

Hoody graffiti-ed "HE'S A Liar!" in the burned down medical clinic but capitalized the L followed by lowercase letters sticks out...there's been phrases in the totheark stuff where capitol letters in the wrong spots in sentences will spell out other words if you look closely too...which emphasizes the love of word games...in another early totheark post there's a line that says "Until now it's been a game" or something to that effect. Meaning that word games were a tool to give a warning, but the danger is a real threat from that point on...the continuation of word games builds on this theory.

Also Entry: 62 is spelled with a capitol E...which has never happened before. Pointing toward wordplay again.

The plastic baby doll..the comments about being "Blind" etc...these are also taunts to Masky, who in 62, where I stopped watching...seems to actually be blind, moving by sound or some other perception. Earlier videos with a masky like figure rolling his eyes around with black facepaint on his face showing through also hint at this being a REAL blindness when the Masky personality manifests.

I think Masky is either another spirt / entity related to The Operator in some way...OR, a DID induced split personality created by PTSD from Tim's earlier experiences around The Operator. (Possibly stemming back to childhood) OR...somehow both?

I can't prove either theory just yet...but I'm leaning to the former where it's actually another entity. It could be a rival to the Operator, or something created by The Operator that is bound in some way to control Tim to an extent. (Remember once again that Hoody wrote that Tim/Masky is a "Liar!", as previously mentioned, meaning he could even be lying to himself about his circumstances. Also in the totheark video where Masky limps that no matter how much he "Hates" he will "Never be free". Meaning The Operator in some sense has power over Masky.

If totheark is Hoody, the early video where Jay is wretching and coughing at the house means that Hoody was also skulking about in there along with Masky. I think this is proven to be true when you see the same slender man doll that was at the top of the stairs reappear in the access tunnels where the folder on Tim's medical record is left.

Again, the Baby Doll which represents Masky....and the Slender Man Doll have a connection to childhood games...and Hoody / totheark's love of games and almost childlike fascination with things.

The video that Jay did not post, (which presumably totheark did), in which we see the kids birthday party for Alex (and where he's marked by the symbol of the Operator, (and The Operator himself shows up in the end of the video), points towards everything starting much earlier than the shooting of the student film. Alex has been marked for a long time as property to The Operator, just as Masky manifested in Tim's youth in all probability when you consider the medical records, tampered as they are.

Masky steals the medicine which helps Tim avoid loss of control and sets up a video camera to film the change in personality...which goes along with totheark having a camera and having a film background/posting video blogs on his / her own channel.

Leaving me where I am at episode 62...Jay getting a "warning" about how this is his "only chance" to catch Masky / Tim...or maybe...bring Tim to his side, influence him away from the manipulations / control of the operator...or maybe free him from those bonds (something Hoody/totheark has taunted that Masky could never do on his own)

So...

WHAT IS THE ARK?

I think...the ark is Alex himself. A Vassal for The Operator to poses in order to have a physical body on this earth. Alex was living in hiding around Rosswood until Jay staked him out and followed him home...Hoody/totheark stalks Jay at every turn..."He will lead me to YOU" was a phrase in an early video. So...the scene where Hoody and Masky are together...but Masky can't quite will himself to kill Alex/The Operator due to being under his control to an extent...makes a lot more sense in context.

Hoody needs Jay to lead him to Alex/The Operator, in order to stop their connection from becoming permanent in some way I believe. It's not quite there yet, though the possession is strong, but I think that The Operator can come to earth in an even more powerful fashion with his "Ark" (Alex, as his Vassal...marked from childhood to be possessed.) That is, if The Operator continues to posses Alex long enough to make this possession permanent...either that...or the ARK is the key to making this possession final/unchanging/or in some other way bringing him into the physical world once and for all.

The other theory I have is that Ark is some sort of inter-dimensional or space ship of some kind...leaning toward the existence of "Alien" entities rather than spiritual/demonic possession. It could be that all three entities, Hoody, Masky, and The Operator are looking for their Ark (Boat), but why all the rivalry between the three? This could suggest that Frequency and perception of how light bends to the eye Vs a camera lense has a big part to do with film distortions, and why the Camera works like radar in a sense to picking people who have been affected up...or when Alex emotes in an aggressive manner in defense of the Operator with it's power, why it makes the Camera react)

But I still prefer the simpler notion that Alex is the Ark either way. Even if they are Aliens of some sort.

EDIT / Additional notes:

01.) "Rosswood might be a nod to Roswell NM if these beings turn out be alien in some nature / from another dimensions ("There are Doors"), but the story about sacrifices Alex made might be a nod to the legend of Roanoke Colony in Virgina, "The Lost Colony".

02. If Masky is an entity that can possess someone like The Operator, Hoody is also, probably a related entity, who possessed a person who blamed Alex prior to his/her possession, and therefore is driven by base emotions like Masky. (IE: "Betrayal" / "Justice" / "Vengeance" Vs Masky's blatant "Hatred" / "Fear" / "Blindness" (Implying a stubborn nature")

This casts Hoody/totheark more into the role of an anti-hero though if my theories here are proven to be close to the mark.

 		Watch up to 67.5 and maybe you can add and remove some points in your theory. So far, for a newbie, that is a really well written theory. Good detail!

Thanks man! I will continue to watch tonight...and then be sad that I have to wait along with everyone else for updates...I can't imagine what the last three years were like for people who were there from the start. So suspenseful. It's a brilliant show, better than anything on TV even for it's few faults just for how brave it is, as well as because there's kind of a puzzle game side to it with totheark's wordplay and vague premonitions.

I think it's amazing. =)

I have some other theories I'm going to add too...I appreciate the encouragement!!! I will also revise around the remaining episodes I'm sure.

I do feel that Hoody is probaby Sarah (who has been missing for a long time) But the Sigma/S symbol could also stand for Seth. (I lean heavily toward Sara, but I didn't want to go there just yet since there's so little to go one with either character)

I'm trying not to read too much in there yet either...there's the burnt down old school...what's really going on with the camera...how people seem to teleport...and how the medical clinic that was burned down might be a factor in the past...memory loss and even the childhoods of some of these characters (especially Tim) are huge unanswered questions. And where the heck is Jessica!? I just feel like she should still be alive...but maybe she got the axe like Brian too. =/

two instances prove hoody is totheark beyond a reasonable doubt

1. in intermission, we can see a figure sitting near a tree with what appears to be hoody's mask. the text "did you see me, i saw you" appears. in entry 42, hoody is sitting near the tree in the beginning looking right at alex

2. one of the newer tothearks said "see you soon" and in the next entry hoody appeared to them

 		Also if hoody isn't totheark and is just working with him, we can pretty much confirm that hoody is brian and totheark is seth for various reasons I don't feel like getting into, but you can probably figure them out for yourself. Advocate kind of infers that brian was working with totheark, but not necessarily tta himself (an advoctate is an accompice)

So I still think hoody/tta = Seth, or at the very least tta = seth and hoody = brian

Also add to this TTA's Observation video and then Entry 61 being filmed by Hoodie and being the same subject matter confirms Hoodie is TTA or affiliated with it.

Why are you sure it's Seth or Seth and Brian....I'm really thinking Brian is dead from how things have been going, and that Tim is lucky to be alive after getting clubbed with a pipe to the back of the head.

After looking at Hoody's build in several videos...it actually really could be Sarah. Take a look at her posture / hips and slouching shoulders.

I'm not saying it's not a man for sure...but it could be her.

Is it just me, or has Hoody's build been looking like Brian's for the past, like, two times we've actually seen him? If I'm not just hallucinating, maybe they've decided to have Brian be the actor now so that way it matches up when/if they reveal him. I'm probably just overly hopeful and stupid tbh.

Rosswood park is actually just the name of a park in the city where the creators live. I don't think they're putting any significance in the name.
