I don't get where people get the idea that Jay is purposefully trying to hide things from us. Why would he have started to upload the entries at all if that were the case? And the only time I can recall him lying was when he didn't tell the audience he was filming himself, and that was only a lie by omission. And it's not like he was obligated to tell us about his filming habits anyway.

I dont think Jay burned the tapes. I think they were in his apartment when it burned and Hoody put them in the hole for Jay to recover them. At least thats what I thought but now im kinda re-considering it.

But seriously, I think it's pretty clear that Jay isn't hiding information from us, the entire point of the Marble Hornets channel is to get info out to people...If he didn't want us to know something, he just wouldn't continue to post.

If posting this was a derpity moment on Jay's part, it may also be a necessity for the story. I'm guessing that Alex is going to see this entry, be appalled that those burnt tapes were discovered and that some survived, and streak over to his old hometown fairly sure of where Tim and Jay are desperate to avoid them being shared with the world...or if that's already happened, desperate to get revenge on them for doing that.
Oh and also! I really like the idea that the initial bag of tapes that Alex gave Jay was not a random assortment, but instead a carefully selected batch to give Jay the impression that Alex was an innocent victim of TO, to lead him into the mystery and get involved.

Jay's already posted lots of incriminating stuff against Alex, I don't think he's desperate to be seen as innocent anymore

Well without much evidence to go on my gut would say that it was either TTA or Hoodie who burnt down Jay's apartment, in order to get him to continue investigating.

It's interesting that Jay is having visual hallucinations in the middle of the day. His paranoia is starting to really come to the forefront.

Just to play devil's advocate here, why does the camera not capturing anything prove that Jay's hallucinating? We have audio distortion occurring and this is taking place in a world where doors lead elsewhere, people can teleport, and giant faceless beings terrorize you: is it really that farfetched to consider something being unfilmable?

I've been watching some shows about ghost hunting lately and I've started realizing how much of a ghost story Marble Hornets actually is: a lot of times in these investigations people will see or hear phenomena that aren't captured on their audio or video equipment, and this very-well could be happening here.
