Sweet, I've been looking forward to this show (it premieres tomorrow, at nine if we go by the clock that says 'Monday' and points to nine o clock) and an ARG about psychic serial killers sounds awesome. Count me in, I'll start sifting through this when I get home from work.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Welcome to The Following is not an ARG - it just has ARGish elements in its design. (Former Sammeeeees players may recognize some of the pictures and the style. )

I'm really looking forward to the premiere tomorrow.

Wow, this one goes pretty deep. There are a ton of extra websites I've been sorting through. Basically, it's about a serial killer and what looks like his cult, the FBI agent who became obsessed with him, and the mysterious person, 'Nevermore', posting this information online.

Anyway, a brief summery of the information given thus-far on the various characters:

Nevermore

-The person giving us all of our information
-Is stalking Carroll and his Friends
-Seems to be on our side (?)
-Joe calls him 'Dupin' after a Poe character
-Texting with Usher

Joe Carroll

-Was a professor of literature at Winslow University and attacked 14 students from 2003-2004
-The murders were inspired by Edgar Allen Poe (eyes were cut out), who Joe loved
-He published his version of Poe's last work, titled 'The Gothic Sea.' This book panned with critics.
-Had a wife, 'Claire Matthews' and a son named Joseph
- A VERY influential person and teacher
-Shot during his arrest on October 3rd, 2003 by FBI Agent Ryan Hardy

Ryan Hardy

-Became obsessed with proving Carroll's guilt
-Suspected him after going to speak with him as an expert of Edgar Allen Poe
-Was the only one in the bereau who suspected Carroll
-Saved Sarah Fuller's life, but was injured and had to leave the FBI
-Wrote a book about Joe
-According to 'PrinceProspero', "likes to be alone, likes vodka, hates to say goodbye, lonely, likes Claire (Carroll's ex-wife?)"

Lenore

-Went to Carroll's book reading on 08/09/03 and quickly became obsessed with him
-Her 'Momma' tried to discourage her.
-Receives letters from Carroll while he is in prison, and went to visit him numerous times.

Prince Prospero

-Obsessed with Hardy and Carroll's victims
-Totally into the 'art' of the murders, and seems to only interact with Carroll, none of the other 'Friends'.

The Knight

-Enthusiastic, does the legwork as if he's on a quest from his king (Carroll)
-Stalking 'Betty'

LadyLigeia

-A new 'friend'
-Implied to be in love with Carroll
-25 years old
-Being followed by Nevermore (?) and is following Hardy

Mister Usher

-Playing a 'Cat and Mouse' game with Nevermore by sending him text messages about Joe and Friends

The General

-A 'mastermind'
-Fascinated with Mind Control and how it is used in cults
-Information about him and mind control was found in a tin box along with three plastic bags, one with a barrette, one with pearls, and one with a man's watch.

Annabel Lee

-Communicates with Carroll via classified sites, the messages appearing and disappearing quickly
-Different from the others- more of a victim than a killer
-Has only met Carroll once, and mostly speaks with him online. She has no intention of meeting the other Friends (who she calls wackos) and thinks Carroll has two sides- "Good Joe and Bad Joe"

W.W.

-Someone wanted Nevermore to be aware of him- he's received emails from an unknown source about WW
-Fascination with serial killers- tried to get an interview with Carroll for a college project
-Most likely a female with Hybristophilia
