 What is this area for?
A brief description of what those threads are all about and how we came to this configuration

Welcome!

Some of you might be wondering what happened. Others are new here and trying to find an ARG related to the Slender Man mythos. Here is everything you need to know about the new layout of the forums.

History:

Once upon a time there was an ARG named Marble Hornets. That ARG promoted Slender Man and for many he became a household name and even an object of dreams (nightmares are dreams too!). Alas, that ARG did not live forever as some hoped. The creators had to move on, leaving the stage open for many side stories that eventually started to pop up, created by fans of the series.

Need:

While MH reached a certain conclusion the side stories were thriving. Thus many players found themselves digging into the Archives of uF to find the MH area where the side stories were providing further source of entertainment. As such it was not quite fair to those players to classify their efforts as archival entries.

What uF did:

MH is done. Well, until they come back. But since there are no actual plans to have a Season 2 (no matter what trolls might have you believe) the threads for MH will remain in the Archives area. Those could be resurrected again at a later time if or when the story picks up again. But for now let's let that Slender Man sleep.

The rest of the side stories have been moved in the Chaotic Fiction area under their own home now, a tribute to the success of the Slender Man storytelling. This way all new efforts can find a place in the more active area of uF.

So that's what happened folks. Hopefully we have found the happy medium to be able to satisfy you all and provide you with an awesome area where your stories can be told. If you are new here and notice the threads with the original titles containing something like "side story" now you know how this came to be.

As always, please follow the posted guidelines for the use of the forums and enjoy each other's nightmares.

See you around. Smile

All,

Marble Hornets is back! With that please keep all discussions about the new season within the MH forums. That would make housekeeping a lot easier and resurrecting the forums from the Ephemeral area a breeze.

Thank you!

Your friendly mods.

Can I just make a statement here?

If you are going to make a [TRAILHEAD] post, you should make it look like a trailhead, that allows the viewer to get into it from the very 1st topic post. That includes giving a little bit of background information, and all relevant links.

What I've been constantly seeing are people, primarily those with low post counts, posting a trailhead with a video and leaving just like that. It feels very poor and only to further their own post count. Leaving comments like "This is spooky," or "cool" then linking one video with no information on the ARG/vlog is a horrible way to hook someone into it!
