I have only watched it once so correct me if I am wrong, but Alex seemed to be lying to Amy. He said he was at home, but he was actually driving to the park. Why would he do this? What could he possibly be up to in that park that is worth lying about?[/spoiler]

We saw what he was doing, he was looking for the guy that had been following him around. I'm guessing this took place after entry 4, since he seemed to be trying to recreate the circumstances in which he saw the thing. Running at the Operator and asking "What do you want" is a pretty strong indication that while he had seen the thing before, he was still oblivious to its true nature. I don't think his lie to Amy was malicious, I think he was just keeping his developing stalker problem to himself.

Like that distortion back in Entry 33 where Tim burst into Jay's room?

Oh god. They're humanizing Alex. (This is early days. The lie was well-intentioned, I think. Keep Amy safe type stuff.)

I loved the similarity between what Alex did and what Jay did. If this is leading to more parallels between the two of them, I'm going to be very pleased.

Yes! Also why when jay ran towards TO in #52 we could barely see his tie (because he was too tall) but when Alex ran towards him we could perfectly see his head?. He was shorter in the 09 or what?

Why is it that Jay seems totally oblivious to the Operator's role in these events? He never refers to him in his commentaries (with the exception of some of the first entries), and the characters almost never mention him. I mean really, isn't the next logical step to cut to the chase and ask "Who the hell is this creepy guy who follows Alex around, and what do I do about him?"

I don't think Alex was doing it to protect Amy, only 'cause her distance away from him would take care of that. Seems more to me like Alex just didn't want to tell anyone about what he was going through, maybe not wanting to acknowlege that there was a problem outright or something. This had to be in the early stages of his encounters with the Operator, the fact that he drove all that way out there to find the thing implies to me that he hadn't started spotting the tall man around his property yet.

Location: I'm lost, let's ask that bald, tall, faceless guy in a business suit.

Overall a great entry, I believe.

It really felt like a S1 entry, and I immediatly thought of Entry #2.

It made me doubt of Alex's story that he mailed that tape that ended up being entry #26. If he didn't want nothing related to Amy to be known, he wouldn't have sended that one. He would have burned it, like the rest of the others. I think now that he just made it up when he said that Jay "was not exactly hard to find". I think either Masky or Hoody or TTA or whatever mailed it to Jay, and Alex used it to team up with Jay, in order to take care of the loose ends like he tried to do in Entry #52.

YES. This is the same reason why I can't call Stephen King a "horror" writer. He makes CHARACTERS, then puts them in a horrific situation. Trosephim is archieving the same, and that's the best possibly thing you can do as a storyteller: to make characters human, enough that the story is something that's happening to them, and not a situation in which they serve a purpose. I toast to Trosephim for making human characters, the greatest archivement in storytelling.

That's different, though. Amy was involved in it at that point, and was also missing.

Another observation that isn't important: Alex said that Tim had a small role in Marble Hornets, but in the trailer from the Season 2 DVD, Tim seems to have a major role. .

Is that trailer canon? I thought it wasn't.

I thought it was. I see no reason why it wouldn't be canon, but if you have heard that it isn't canon, you're probably right.

This happens within a week of the hospital disappearances. He mentioned Tim telling him about the location, and when that happened, they agreed to go the coming weekend.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Did we just see Alex's Slendification event? We know direct contact with TO has dire consequences; specifically, it caused Jay to lose 7 months.

Edit: I see the tentative timeline has the disappearances and the scouting as separate events. I was always under the assumption that they happened on the same occasion, but I may be wrong.

No, when they finally did go, Tim mentioned how long it had been since Alex told him about it. For whatever reason they didn't go as early as they had planned.

Also, Alex wouldn't have waited seven months to kill Jay if he had been planning to do it the whole time.

I think we need to revisit the tentative timeline we have for the Marble Hornets shooting. I'm not sure where to put this, because we know for a fact it's after #12 and #3 (when Alex started filming himself) also and before Tim and Alex go to the abandoned hospital (#56). This Entry is also definitely after #4, since the playground is supposedly the same one from that entry.

Anyone feel like going through the list we have and putting forth conjecture in a new thread?

For now, I'm going to stick this between 4 and 13, but I'm starting to think what we have right now is askew.
