Spoiler (Rollover to View):
with Jay being counted amongst the list of those who are gone, this video would certainly explain that.

I'm thinking the end of 22 is the final thing to happen in the 2006 chronology.

We still have no idea who opens the door in the background or why he sounds so robotic, and it's entirely possible another huge major event happens after Alex drives off in this entry.

So, the first part of 22 happens before this, the latter part after.

Did Alex actually try to kill Jay though? Or just tackle him and do *something* to wipe his memory?

Once again, more questions than answers...

At least now we know why Alex thought Jay was "gone"

Indeed. And that's actually a pretty big reveal. As well as shining a big light on the whole "Jay is an unreliable narrator" thing.

It's interesting that Alex doesn't simply attack Jay here, but leaves him in a field as an apparent offering to The Operator. You can hear the static get louder until Alex turns and gets out of range.

This has all really made me wonder about the final tape of Season 1. Was Alex's girlfriend just unlucky...or did Alex set up the camera hoping that she'd eventually find it? And if the later, then was that tape given some careful editing and sent by Alex himself?

I have to say, out of everything that happened in this entry, the thing I appreciated most was how accurate it was to "CeGars"'s (or whatever Troy's account name was) original post on SomethingAwful. They really didn't change a thing and that makes the series seem a tad more realistic.

Also, now we know why Jay was "gone". But we don't know how his memory got wiped. It seems that Jay thinks Alex was directly responsible, but we don't know for certain yet.
I don't understand why Alex attacked Jay though... He didn't seem reluctant to give Jay the tapes at all, but then attacked Jay a moment later. If he did attack Jay because of what was on the tapes, why didn't he take back the plastic bags full of them?

One last thing I want to bring up: In some 2006 tapes, Alex has long hair. In some he has short hair. We have seen that he had short hair during the beginning of filming, but also has short hair at the end as we see in this entry. Is this just a continuity error because they obviously can't wait for Joseph's hair to grow? Also, small nitpick: why wasn't Alex wearing glasses?
Again, this entry gives us more questions than answers. I still liked it though.

Edit: better word choice

This was weird by Marble Hornets standards. It's not that Jay didn't remember being attacked, that part is normal in this show, but that Jay remembered the encounter going a different way completely, that's new. What did Alex do to him? Why'd he leave him alive? Why did he still leave the tapes with Jay? Hopefully Jay can salvage more footage to flesh this mother out.

From the first bit of distortion, after Jay is talking about moisture ruining tapes in the attic. Brian?

EDIT: Nah, it's Alex. Later frames show the figure adjusting the camera, and he's wearing the same shirt that Alex is wearing in this video.

I can't tell if Jay is having a seizure or if he's fallen and frantically trying to get away from Alex.

I guess if the Operator can erase your memory, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to alter it as well.

True enough, though that would add a new dimension to the Operator's actions.

This entry shows that Alex aren't full-time crazy. At first, he gave the tapes to Jay and was normal, but then TO told him that Jay wasn't allowed to get the tapes so Alex went crazy and beated Jay up. After the last entry I believed that entry 26 was real and that Alex didn't want Amy to dissapear, since he'd been so nice in entry 70, but now I've changed my mind. I think he's sane sometimes, but that TO can make him crazy.

I probably shouldn't be drawing parallels between Alex and Simon Petrikov, but I am.

Another thing I just thought of:
Who was Alex living with during 2006? It seemed as though he lived alone in the original tapes. He moved in with Brian, right? Or am I just pulling that our of nowhere? If so, then the line about his roommates moving out is Alex's nonchalant way of saying he tried to kill Brian.

That's another thing. If Alex had a roommate, whether it was Brian or anyone else, why have we not seen or heard of that person until just now? We've seen plenty of footage of Alex inside his house, why did he always seem to live alone?

EDIT: Unless slendy was roommate.
