I recall Jessica keeping her story pretty straight.

None of the characters really trust anyone else mainly because of the memory loss issue. It's no surprise they lie to each other.

The biggest thing we dont' know about is the "he is a liar" thing written on the wall. We can assume he was talking about Tim, but at this point I feel like Tim has confessed everything to Jay. The only thing he could be holding back is that he actually does remember everything he does as masky

I went like this:

(Entry #30)
Jay: What about you? You've been here a while.
Jessica: I got kicked out.
Jay: Got kicked out?
Jessica: Mhmm. So I'm just, like, here until I find a new place.
Jay: Um, why'd you get kicked out?
Jessica: I don't wanna talk about it.

(Entry #32)
Jessica: I know something's going on.
Jay: Like what?
Jessica: I don't know how I got here!...(blah blah blah) Have you had any kind of memory loss at all?

So in one entry she knows she got kicked out, and in another entry she has no clue what happened and admits to losing her memory. She can't keep her story straight, but it happens over the course of three entries and she doesn't get called on it by Jay.

Now if we suppose neither Alex nor Jay remembered their actions in Entry #71, and Alex was heavily influenced into that course of action, how would Alex feel about Jay sharing that footage? That could get very interesting...

That WOULD be interesting! Smile
However, I doubt that Alex would sit down and review the footage with Jay without trying to kill him. Laughing

That isn't failure to keep her story straight. That is when she comes clean to Jay.

I think that the "He is a liar" could also be a warning to Tim about Jay. Just my impression.

Wouldn't really explain Tim going apeshit on it with the rebar, though...

Well if Tim knew what he did as Masky, then he would know about Hoody and not try to hurt him in entry 66

I think aidansean means when she says she got kicked out. Which didn't actually happen.

That's lovely? Frankly, I'm not getting the point. He said it was an obvious point, but then later questioned how many of us noticed it. However, there doesn't seem to be anything TO notice. At no point did Jessica lose track of her story, rather, she deliberately informed Jay that she was lying previously. It's a pretty big difference, & not exactly a secret. I doubt Jay even had any clue that she was lying until she told him so.

So it just seems like a restatement of a widely known fact: Jessica also had memory problems, & lied to Jay about it, but her lies were better.

I dunno about you guys, but when I meet complete strangers in the hallway of motels I usually divulge the full truth of my life story to them, including the nuances of my current living situation.
For those of you not familiar with the concept of sarcasm, what I mean is that just because Jessica said she was kicked out, doesn't mean she's evil, a sociopathic liar or she's had her memory corrupted. People lie. All the time. For no reason, or for good reasons. If I ran into some random chick in a motel, or anywhere for that matter, that I thought was mildly attractive I would not tell her that I ran away from my apartment cause I saw some weird faceless dude in a black suit who teleports around and has my former roomate's boyfriend in a trance and convinced him to try and kill me so I'm hiding out here. I would probably make up some clever excuse and give her a smile, cause I'd think it would get me laid.

POINT BEING... Jessica had plenty of reasons to make up an excuse for why she was in that hotel. Even if she remembered Jay, if she thought he didn't remember her, she had plenty of reason to protect herself. I don't think that anything that Jessica said/did was unreasonable at all. In my opinion, aside from all the people we don't have enough info about (ie. Sarah, Amy) she had the most pure motivations of anyone. Jessica was nothing more than a victim and she is the ONLY person in the entire series that I can say that for sure about.
She did not do ANYTHING to instigate any wrongdoing, she got dragged along by her roommate, by Jay, and by anyone who was involved with them (Alex), Jessica is the classic story of someone innocent and uninvolved who gets dragged along for a disaster.

I've been lying to all of you this whole entire time. My name is not really "Lithp."

My name isn't Reese. It's Jesus. You found me, I've just been waiting for you to figure it out, fools.
