I'll take a look at it later... Nothing of interest found right away, but I didn't look deep.

Fun fact, the mini Mona Lisa:

So I jumped on board the other day with an email to Avecira about the 3 doors puzzle. I've had a emails back with puzzles (ones that have already been solved) and I've sent back answers however when I got up to the yellow ca picture (the one which reveals the message specifically naming Avecira Solutions and Toilworn Diamond) I decided to try and fish for some info from Exaltego. Here's what I sent:

Quote:
This puzzle's message seems to reveal something that doesn't reflect too well on your project or your company. What are your goals in deciphering these messages? How do I know you are the right person to be working for?

I'll let you know what the reply is.

I took a look at the cat image and couldn't see anything of interest right away. The image is RGBA for whatever reason (an image like this would typically be RGB, no alpha) but the alpha channel seems to be empty.

I split the image into distinct R, G, and B channels here:

It looks like there are some square-like patterns, but it's impossible to say if those are a result of the heavy JPG artifacting or not, and there doesn't seem to be an original version of this image to compare to.

 Joining in

Hello people.
I read up on this so far and I decided to join in.
The first thing I thought about was the previous Face Development employee, so I DM'd Beth on Twitter.

Sent:
I was wondering about the previous employees for the Face Development. Is there any way I could get into contact with them?

Received:
I haven't heard from them since they left. It might be a long shot, but you could try if their email addresses still work...

I always got along best with Hubert, so you could try: hubert.ackerSPLATavecirasolutions.com

So there is a new email.

That's great! Did you send him an e-mail?

Also sorry I haven't been very active but this is all way over my head. Photoshop and coding *blegh*

Using ellipses to make pictures is far over my head as well. Which is where this idea had come from.

I did email him a few minutes ago, so I will let you all know when/if I get a response.
Beth did say that the email may not be active anymore. We shall see.

My idea of holding back information from Exaltego and questioning him about Toilworn Diamond didn't reveal much. I got a long email of him groveling saying how trustworthy I am and how he needs the information to weed out untrustworthy helpers etc... I replied with something along the lines of prove to me that I can trust you.

BTW nice work on that new email address, hopefully it leads somewhere.

New post from Beth with a new puzzle... "thighsprang.png" is the filename, any ideas what it might mean? I guess it anagrams to "graph things" or "graph nights" Question

It's a weighted graph but not sure what we should do with it yet.. maybe find the shortest path by weights? I'm thinking Dijkstra's_algorithm .. hey, maybe uni did come in handy for something after all! Laughing

Is it maybe half of a thing? Perhaps we're intended to be decoding something with it.

And the smallest number path is the one along the bottom edge:
1+5+3+4+2+31+32+2+1=80

Several other paths add up to 85.

Could be a key to something else, or I guess the right sequence of letters from each node could be a page on stoptoilworndiamond.co.nf? I tried doing this with the bottom edge path but no luck.

I got a response from some questions I sent to Hubert (great work getting that address btw!), not sure what best to ask him though...

Quote:

Yes, the face modeling is part of the project Toilworn Diamond. I know that Richard and Buck have high hopes of the Toilworn Diamond and that they are planning to do something big with it. However, they were pretty good at distributing the work to different departments and keeping the big picture only to themselves. Therefore, I'm not really able to reveal much more about the project.

What comes to the face modeling, I know that the Toilworn Diamond builds a register of some kind and for each person it saves an image of a face among with other things. Basically the purpose of this kind of face modeling is to save space by storing only the coordinates, dimensions and color of ellipses. I don't know whose idea it initially was, but personally I think it is quite dumb. Richard probably heard it from somewhere and thought that it's the best thing since sliced bread. I never mentioned my opinions since I quite enjoyed doing it and I got payed for it. Also, Richard is not the kind of guy who takes it well if someone points out that he has been wrong. So, I just let it be...

If you play with the levels on the thighsprang image, you see a note that says:
http://stoptoilworndiamond.co.nf/thighsprang/A...X.html

If you go to:
http://stoptoilworndiamond.co.nf/thighsprang/

You'll find the second part of the puzzle. Someone smarter than me can figure out how to fit them together.

I could have sworn I tried that url already! Laughing But cool, well spotted iamthor!

That's a Huffman tree.. will need to do some reading on how those work later.

Ok here a part of the solution:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

shortest path is:
ABDGNQIFHEKOLPRTVWX

replacing the A...X.html with this leads to a new page called curve text:
http://stoptoilworndiamond.co.nf/thighsprang/ABDGNQIFHEKOLPRTVWX.html

Sent h.acker (hehe) this email.
Quote:
Dear Mr. Acker,

My name is Myrk. I am contacting you to ask you some questions. If this is okay with you.
I received your email address from Beth Swillower.
Sincerely,
Myrk

In response he sent me this:
Quote:
Hi Myrk!

I didn't expect to get any emails to this address anymore. Frankly, I'd rather forget that I ever even worked for Avecira, but if you know Beth, I'm willing to help. What do you want to know?

Unsure as to what exactly I should ask. But he is willing to help at any rate.

Edit: I think I may ask him if he could complete the face development challenge for us so we can get someone on the inside perhaps.
