Wait... we spell it "doofus" here in the States. And I think we invented that word. Should you not automatically, reflexively spell it "doofuz" in the Highlands just for... spite? Razz

I might be irked by the way some choose to frame their opinion, but it won't draw me into an argument (or it shouldn't).

I'm all for being passionate, but I can't understand the reaction to other people's opinions, no matter how disagreeably they're expressed.

Or am I missing the point?

No, you've hit the nail on the head. [Ooh, sorry. "Niall on the heodh," I think your people spell it. Wink] Some people just get carried away from time to time when they are feeling strongly about things and get a bit overwrought in their arguments. I suspect that the perception of increased wait times between entries, combined with the sense that we are not moving forward very much, plot-wise, amps up the crankiness factor and makes people more likely to snap.
(As opposed to, say, the partying demons in my head that make me likely to snap.)

Eh, there are plenty of ways to kill someone which don't involve much screaming or blood.

Not that I have any hands-on experience with that.

...What, that guy over there? He's just... sleeping... in a pool of ketchup... or something...

I like you, Joker. Remind me to... uh... never piss you off. * backs away slowly and non-threateningly *

Many times the point is (in my own case, at least) is that there's a difference between dislike, constructive criticism, and outright disrespect. The communities I belong to would have banned a lot of the people on here for the all out rants they've posted about entry quality or disappointment in content.

If you think something is bad, say so. Also explain to the creator how YOU think it could be better. That's called constructive criticism.

If you don't like something, then why are you commenting on it to begin with? That's dislike.

And finally, calling something absolute shit that a three year old could have done more quickly and under budget is disrespectful. I have no place for that in my life, and at best ignore it on here.

I won't say I've never responded to someone's post like that, because I have due to me finding it exceptionally tasteless to say negative things in that manner with nothing to contribute as to how it could be improved. Alas, the internet has made everyone drama queens who feel if something is not perfect in the tiniest way that it is stupid horseshit. We have become a society of hyperbole.

We are not. We are a billion times better than a society of hyperbole.

Explain how not. Because from what I see here and everywhere else I've been to on the internet, paladin181 is spot on.

You know, sadly, that happens to me a lot because I tend to overthink shit way too much. :/

When most people make errors, it's usually because they think to little. If your errors come from thinking too much, you will probably be fine in the long run. Remember how nicely it all worked out in the end for prince Hamlet?

It could be they're waiting for certain actors/actresses to become available (like Jessica May) so that they can complete the storyline(s).

On a hopeful note, I was almost convinced that the writers of How I Met Your Mother had no idea what they were doing and that we would never meet the mother. Then, bam, season finale. Maybe something similar will happen with MH. Or not.

They've said more than once that she's been back and available for ages now. I don't feel like finding it right now, but there's a tweet from Troy about this a little while back and they mention it in one of the Q and A's viewable on YouTube.

So... you're hoping that Marble Hornets will... live up to its title? Confused

I think you're absolutely right- both ardent defenders and fierce critics can fall foul of this on here and elsewhere. Interestingly, the less relevance the item up for debate appears to have for everyday life, the higher the vehemence quota amongst those attacking/defending it..

I will be disappointed if the titular hornets do not show up at least once in the series.

Well, maybe not really, but I think it'd be fun if they show up in the background of some place they visit at least once. Maybe Brian's house or something.
