I got: 60% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!
Which is really odd, since I've never lived south of the Mason-Dixon line.
Go figger, y'all!

They got me on "youse" and "papering", both strictly New York things. Or should I say, "tings."
But here's another question they could have asked:
If somebody's acting kind of funny, what is your response?
1. Wassamattawitchoo?
2. What's your damage?
3. Y'all right?
4. Don't know
If your answer was "what is your major malfunction, maggot", then you are in a different category.

It's funny because Texas has certain anomalies, like "papering", that are supposed to be Yankee sayings. We should be in our own category. The term "ice house" to describe a convenience store, for example, originated in South Texas.

Re: Yankee or Dixie
55% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category. (Not surprising since I lived on Long Island until we moved to Florida when I was 6)
Hey, Cem, you forgot to tell us your results....

A slight southern influence from the hubby (who scored 59% Dixie from him living in Tennessee for his teen years).
Southern Californian thru and thru - and the influence of modern pop culture definitely shows.

Something to do with the Mason-Dixon Line I guess.

Live most of my life in Indiana, right outside of CHicago. Lived in Chicago when I was in my early 20's and trying to be cool. Moved to Wisconsin when I got married and had a kid. But always a midwestern girl.

5. WTF is your problem/is wrong with you?
The "F" would instantly identify you as a New Yorker.
