Should I give HM another chance? 30-50 killed it for me.
Fan from Ep 1-30, stuck with it 30-40, dropped at 50.

I'm considering giving MH another chance. I basically am asking the community, whether or not it get better after episodes 45-50, which is where I stopped watching.

I watched it for the creepy factor, not the puzzle. I loved it from 1-25 or so. I steadily lost interest after that, but I stuck with it hoping it'd get better. From episode 35 on, I was fast forwarding through most of it, as it seemed the episodes were 80% walking, 15% boring dialogue that didn't progress the plot at all, and 5% useful dialogue, or actually relevant events/sightings. There really didn't seem to be any cohesive plan, plot, or destination for the story or characters. Each episode seemed to be planned out individually, and poorly, like watching cub scouts put on a skit they designed themselves 10 minutes before a campfire.

By episode 50, I was done. But if the episodes after 50 get scarier/creepier, I'd eagerly dive back in. If the overarching storyline actually manages to come together into something cohesive I can wrap my brain around, it might be worth watching over again to resolve the storyline.

If you didn't like 30-50 I can't see how you'd like any of the new entries. So I'd have to say no. If you only want creepiness go watch some horror movies, MH has pretty much just become a mystery show with some horror elements.

tbh i'm pretty fucking sick of MH, and at this point I only watch because I know we're so close to the end that I "might as well finish it."

It could end tomorrow and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

We actually are probably not getting close to the end considering Troy implied that season 3 is going to be pretty long. You might want to consider either waiting until it's over to watch or just quitting.

I'm almost certain that Troy said something a while back about being X-way (like halfway, a third of the way, whatever) through S3, but I'm too lazy to go look. Either way, I never said I had a desire to stop watching it - only that if it ended sooner rather than later, I wouldn't care nearly as much as I did 20 Entries ago because now they're getting into LOST territory with new questions every entry, no answers, and their own special blend of ludicrous wait times. I have serious doubts they'll be able to answer everything, even if they have 25 more entries. Just give us a 25 minuter and call it a series.

I can see what you're saying, seemed like we had a few slow paced entries there without a lot to them (good build up of tension though), but it looks like that the story picked up again and we're getting good entries imo. I'd say give it a chance, and you never know how they're gonna end it.

I've consistently loved the series from the Introduction to nowish. Still, if you didn't like those, you won't like these. Least you've got season 1 though, right?

Most of my friends have stopped watching late season 2 as well, around the time Alex goes to the tunnel.

I'd say if you don't like that than don't bother. Season 3 imo is not nearly as good as season 2.

Neither season is as good as season 1, imo.

But yeah, if you didn't like S2, you won't like S3. It's just long, and boring, and drags on forever, EXCITING ENTRY, back to long, boring, dragging, more questions, wheeeeeeeeeee

(inb4: "not every entry can be exciting" I am aware, but that doesn't excuse the long, boring, dragging, more questions, and failure to advance the plot most of the time.)

I've liked the whole series so far. But then again, I'm the type of person who loves a good story over shit tons of balls to the walls action. :V

Why is it that the fans seem to dislike MH more than casual viewers?

Maybe because long-term fans have higher expectations and no lives and therefore are harder to please? I don't know.

Not higher expectations, just different expectations. Often times it's simply that the entry goes in a direction other than what the individual viewer was hoping for, which isn't the same as it being bad.

Marble Hornets is a series built on mystery, character progression, and tension building. There are expected horror characteristics, but it is in no way the centerpiece of the series. If you found yourself fast forwarding through dialogue to see something else in the past, Marble Hornets just isn't for you. Wasn't then and isn't now.

If you want something more horror-centric in the Slenderman genre, I'd suggest something more along the lines of Tribe Twelve. Granted, it's still very much a series wrapped in mystery and puzzles, but horror seems to play a larger role in Adam's vlogs, in my opinion.

I'm not a casual viewer. I'm just as much a fan as anyone who has watched the series since it was originally started. So, please excuse me if I get rather offended when someone calls me a casual viewer because I happen to like the show more than some of the more cynical posters on this forum.
