I'm pretty sure the journal Noah now has isn't magic in any way, it'll be Milo's personal diary of sorts, probably describing his fall into depression and eventual suicide via Ol' Slendy. How exactly would "Mr. Scars", one of the collective, have put it in that briefcase in the first place, if the Collective can't get near it?

I dunno, Magic?. We know that it's the same journal that grants Firebrand invulnerability, though.

But Firebrand isn't in the Collective anymore, remember? He goes unpunished because the Journal provides some form of protection (and you must remember, no one in the Collective can get to it themselves). I seriously doubt it's a ruse, because he's helped Noah so much already that I don't see what the Collective would gain from it.

Also, I don't see any reason why HABIT in the video might not be from the present.

I was asking about Habit being from the future or present just out of curiousity if anyone knew, you know because if Habit in Deus Ex Machina was a clip from the future I am worried about a fee long drawn episodes in the crossover about Habit and Noah arguing about him helping Noah haha. It worries me!

What wouldn't the collective have to gain though? It would give them an advantage over Noah's emotions. I could completely understand if Firebrand is still working as a member of the collective and that he is setting Noah up for a trap. Something about it just doesn't seem right to me. I don't see why Firebrand has to be all cryptic and drawn out about helping Noah if he truly wanted to. I'm not saying I predict this to be the outcome, I am saying that it wouldn't be surprising to me if this was the situation. I'm just... On guard about it, if you get what I'm saying?

No, the one granting Firebrand invulnerability is Sebastian's, since he described it as the "missing piece" the Collective is after. It seems Karl still has it in the present time, but the reason Firebrand has it in DEUS EX MACHINA is most likely because Noah will get in the future. Noah has Milo's journal now, but it's probably just a personal account without the same information on hindering the Collective.

Firebrand might not want to give too much away because otherwise Noah might act in ways that would harm his plans. Having knowledge of the future tends to be dangerous, especially if the timeline is malleable.

Yeah, I guess that would make the most amount of sense. Good point. I am still on guard about Firebrand though. I am also excited to see the next episode! Any ideas when the next one will ne up?

Let's hope he posts scans from the journal. Smile

He's gotta figure out how to unlock it, first.

Well, there was a key in the box way back and part of another key in the token letter. Maybe one of those goes with the journal.

Fair enough, Knight. I had forgotten about those. Someone should twit those to Noah.

Gotta appreciate how TT brings back stuff from previous episodes.
(ie, the banging on the closet door)

Not sure about the token letter key, but didn't the key in the box belong to the garage? I think I remember Noah mentioning it.

This is my favorite theory, by far.
