looking at it again, is there something hidden under the black. Looks like two pinpoint Firebrandeque eyes to the right of the doorway

I get the impression that the fortune cookie-esque messages are clues to finding the real key.

Journal: "Find the key, learn the lesson."
Lucky numbers: 42, 23, 16, 15, 8, 4

The implication is that act of finding the key will teach some sort of lesson. Finding the key he has wasn't that difficult, and it didn't impart any knowledge.

The only other thing is that two of the fortunes warn of darkness, but that encompasses pretty much everything in the series.

One last note: Maybe it's a coincidence, but the second set of pinprick eyes in the "Answers are coming" frame looks a lot like an abyss staring back at me.

Is that not Evan/Habit?

It looks like the figure is wearing a baseball cap, and if I remember correctly, Evan/Habit was wearing a baseball cap in the Deus Ex Machina video too?

Also it looks like firebrand's text, and Firebrand has filmed Evan/Habit with an overlay of his text before - in the Deus ex Machina video (He described him as a "loathsome entity with mutual interests")

Could there be more than one Slenderman? Karl saw it in 1944 which was before the Princeton experiment in 1957 that made it enter our world (darkharvest00).
