I don't get why people are insisting that Tim was insisting Jay put the papers in the top pocket.
I mean, his voice was completely calm.
He probably wanted the papers in there because there's more space in that pocket or something.

- Jay may be developing precognition toward the Operator.

- Tim thinks that Jay may be becoming a masked man.

- Despite seemingly being able to teleport anywhere at any time, the Operator has never directly or violently encountered Hoody/Masky on screen.

Wildly Speculative Hypothesis: the masked men have precognition that allows them to evade the Operator, and Jay is becoming one.

I saw this too...not sure if it was deliberate or if someone is actually in the suit wearing something over their face, and it got a little tight for a second?

I think it's the latter -- my personal opinion is that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's Joseph wearing the slendersuit, versus some opinions I've seen that this is a mannequin (?). I am not a doctor, but it seems to me that mannequins do not need to nearly give themselves hip dysplasia trying to stay balanced on stilts. That particular posture also reminds me of Joe's dance sequence in Joseph Listens to Jazz.
-- we've also seen this stocking-over-the-face effect in at least one other Entry, though I'd be hard pressed to tell you which one by number, but it's the one that people kept commenting that T.O. suddenly looked so much more tanned when he'd previously been so pale...

Did anyone else get the vibe that Tim struggling to stay on his feet in front of the Operator was an act of defiance?

That's definitely how it looked to me; I didn't read that as any sort of "bargaining" at all.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaayyy!!!! First of all:

Ok, I'm watching it now *__*

Edit: Ok, I've watched it and... oh, my poor babies. I am dying. Do you think Jay was hallucinating after all an then the real Operator showed?
For me it seems like if he had been playing with Jay in order to make him think he is seeing things that there are not there to make him believe he is just imaginating.

Actually, you'll notice in the first defiant stand, Tim's fist is shaking. Doesn't necessarily mean anything, but he could have been planning to introduce TO to Mr. Fisty...

Yeah, that was my impression; defiance in the face of an overwhelming enemy, who has the ability to literally stare you down.

Tim's body language seemed to me like he was yelling at the operator to leave them alone.

c) "Sacrifice"

But how would the sacrifice work if the people "sacrificed" are still alive?

Maybe Alex is not so much sacrificing their lives as much as other people's sanity?
Maybe the Operator is feeding on other people in a way

Shit.

It feeds off their memory.

Uh, guys?

Tons of tapes. It would take a while to count them properly, which isn't really time I have. If I had to guess, I'd say upwards of a hundred. Alex shoved them all in plastic bags so they're not filed in a way that would make them easy to count.

If I remember correctly, Marble Hornets was about the main character coming back to his hometown and recalling events from his childhood. Alex was big into those kinds of movies. Pretentious film student stuff. I was on the set a few times, maybe three or so. He had given me a script but I can't find it now.

But I do know that a good bit of filming took place around his house, which is in a heavily wooded area.

Thanks for your interest,
J.

UPDATE: When I asked him how Alex seemed last time he saw him this was the response:

Quote:
He had lost a lot of weight the last time I saw him. He looked sickly, and was very short with me. Pretty unlike him at the time.

Yeah, and he also tried to strangle you -- but you don't recall that part, for some reason.
Memories. Everything's about memories. Always has been.

Is it just me, or does the 'face' kind of look like the 'feels' guy?

First post from this account in I don't even know how long. I wanted to bring up something that hasn't been noticed yet. Starting at about 12:13,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
during the Tim/Operator confrontation
there seems to be words, or at least letters, over and around Tim. I can make out a W and a N. Can anyone grab some screens, maybe clear things up a little bit?

I went frame by frame through everything between TO appearing and disappearing, and a lot of the distortion contains frames of previous footage from this entry, barring the spooky faces towards the end (Tim in 61). I'd place money on what you're seeing just being something superimposed using effects and nothing intentional, although I *did* see something that looked like a match previously before you mentioned what you saw. Can't seem to find it again, unfortunately.

Okay, I figured as much, good job landing that shot right on where the supposed letters are though. I just saw them, noticed no one had commented on them yet, and got a little excited. Thanks for the help.

Holy shit, that was good. A nice scare there in the basement, kinda obvious he was going to appear, but if that didn't happen it would of fell flat. I think about the time traveling, TO can warp people to other dimensions, so why can't he just warp them through time? Only forward though, never back. I was hoping to see Tim take a swing at old oppy there, that would of been cool to see. Overall, I just enjoyed it.

That's a pretty familiar shape there in that window..

Hmm, the whole time the operator is there it looks like Hoody is standing behind that window. Unfortunately when the operator teleports away there is stil something behind that window but it's not Hoody... So is it just the distortion playing with my mind or was he really there?

Something most definitely appeared during the distortion. So it is not just you.

That was probably one of my favourite Entries of Season 3. Everything was executed amazingly well, and I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

Now, time to rewatch it. Wink

Well that was intense. I don't know that Tim made a bargain with Mr O; it seemed more like he was trying to say "stay the f@&# away from my friend!"

I'm thinking those two faces at the 12.27 mark are Tim (mid-seizure) and Alex. Given the mentions of Jay's loss of time, memory, AND the hallucinations, I'm thinking that maybe this is some kind of foreshadowing.
